Characterisation and subtraction of current flow noise in hydrophone recordings [PDF]
In the interior of the Ría de Arousa, on the northwest coast of Spain, a hydrophone is installed to provide information on environmental noise, which is very high due to the intense traffic in the area. The hydrophone, together with various oceanographic

Development of an open-source road traffic noise model for exposure assessment [PDF]
This paper describes the development of a model for assessing TRAffic Noise EXposure (TRANEX) in an open-source geographic information system. Instead of using proprietary software we developed our own model for two main reasons: 1) so that the treatment

Biophysical characterisation shows that NanX, a membrane transport protein from the major facilitator superfamily (MFS), forms both monomers and dimers after purification. AlphaFold modelling and substrate docking provide information on residues likely involved in substrate recognition for NanX and another MFS member, NanT.

Protocol for quantifying miRNA trafficking across the endosomal membrane
An in vitro protocol measures miRNA uptake into endosomes isolated from mammalian cell extracts, which are free of subcellular contaminants. Performed at 37 °C in the presence of ATP, it ensures the import of single‐stranded miRNA into the endosomal lumen.

Predicting fan noise propagation in aeroengine bypass ducts [PDF]
This thesis explores the prediction of rearwards fan noise propagation within the bypass duct and its radiation into the far feld. Two recently developed models: B-induct and GXMunt, are exploited in application to real engine bypass ducts and their ...

How to Use White Noise Analysis to Make Feynman Integrals Mathematically Rigorous [PDF]
In this chapter we summarize applications of White Noise Analysis within the framework of Feynman Path Integrals. With more than 30 years of intensive study this field can be seen as one of the most important applications.

ABSTRACT Advancing artificial intelligence (AI) has transformed learning and work, yet higher education and professional development programs have not systematically equipped learners for AI‐prevalent environments. This lack of preparation creates uncertainty regarding control, responsibility, trust, and accountability.

Pavement Characteristics Affecting The Frequency Content Of Tire/Pavement Noise [PDF]
Tire/pavement noise is a major contributor to traffic noise at highway speeds. Annoyance is more closely related to frequency content than to overall A-weighted noise levels, therefore spectral content analysis of tire/pavement noise is an important ...

Analysis and optimisation of a variational model for mixed Gaussian and Salt & Pepper noise removal [PDF]
We analyse a variational regularisation problem for mixed noise removal that was recently proposed in [14]. The data discrepancy term of the model combines $L^1$ and $L^2$ terms in an infimal convolution fashion and it is appropriate for the joint ...
