Oscillators are key components of many kinds of systems, particularly electronic and opto‐electronic systems. Undesired perturbations, i.e. noise, that exist in practical systems adversely affect the spectral and timing properties of the signals generated by oscillators resulting in phase noise and timing jitter.

The Seasonal Variations Analysis of Permanent GNSS Station Time Series in the Central-East of Europe
Observations from permanent GNSS stations are actively used for the research and monitoring of geodynamic processes. Today, with the use of modern scientific programs and IGS products, it is possible to determine GNSS station coordinates and velocities ...

An Analysis of Cell Membrane Noise
This paper describes an analysis of cell membrane noise. The physiological nature of cell membrane noise is outlined, and the experimental methods and data processing methods used are described. The statistical methods used to make inferences about interesting physiological parameters are discussed and a summary of some of the experimental findings is ...

Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Monitoring trends in road surface impact on rolling noise emissions [PDF]
Road surfaces degrade over time due to heavy traffic and weather conditions, which negatively influences both driving comfort and acoustic properties. In addition, the lifetime of a road surface can be increased by performing cost-effective incremental ...

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Life-cycle costs and infrastructural investments induced by unconventional low-noise aircraft [PDF]
The environment challenge and the expected growth of the market demand impose a technology breakthrough within the aeronautical industry. Although several innovative configurations of airplanes have been analyzed, none of them has been yet chosen as the ...

Traffic Noise and Mental Health: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
Recent evidence suggests that traffic noise may negatively impact mental health. However, existing systematic reviews provide an incomplete overview of the effects of all traffic noise sources on mental health. We conducted a systematic literature search
