Application of Noise Certification Regulations within Conceptual Aircraft Design [PDF]

open access: yesAerospace, 2021
ICAO Annex 16 regulations are used to certify the acoustic performance of subsonic transport aircraft. Each aircraft is classified according to the measured EPNL levels at specific certification locations along the approach and departure.

Toward Noise Certification during Design: Airframe Noise Simulations for Full-Scale, Complete Aircraft. [PDF]

open access: yesCEAS Aeronaut J, 2019
An overview of a recent, NASA-sponsored effort to substantially advance simulation-based airframe noise prediction is presented. An accurate characterization of this component of aircraft noise requires a high-fidelity representation of the finer geometrical details associated with the landing gear and wing high-lift devices, such as slats and flaps ...

Development of a specialized computer application “AQNOISE.EXE 01” on the integrated quality management system specific to noise testing and certification activities [PDF]

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2022
Continuous improvement of the occupational safety and health climate in work systems affected by the presence of noise requires, in addition to the assessment of occupational risks arising from exposure to noise, the resolution of issues such as: the ...

Data-Driven Certification of Neural Networks With Random Input Noise [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Control of Network Systems, 2023
Methods to certify the robustness of neural networks in the presence of input uncertainty are vital in safety-critical settings. Most certification methods in the literature are designed for adversarial or worst-case inputs, but researchers have recently shown a need for methods that consider random input noise.

Određivanje buke radi sertifikacije mlaznih aviona / Procedures in the noise certification of jet aircraft [PDF]

Comparison of predicted engine core noise with current and proposed aircraft noise certification requirements [PDF]

open access: yes7th Aeroacoustics Conference, 1981
Predicted engine core noise levels for subsonic CTOL aircraft engines are compared with measured total aircraft noise levels and to current and proposed federal noise certification requirements. Comparisons are made at FAR-36 measuring stations and take into consideration both full and cutback power operations at takeoff.

Installed Fan Noise Simulation of a Supersonic Business Aircraft

open access: yesAerospace, 2023
Overcoming the problem of excessive engine noise at low altitudes is a formidable task on the way to developing a supersonic passenger aircraft. The focus of this paper is on the fan noise shielding during take-off, investigated as part of the DLR ...
