Noise shielding models for the conceptual design of unconventional aircraft [PDF]
Air traffic growth and the expansion of urban areas around airports make the aviation community noise a key aspect of aircraft design. The analysis of innovative configurations is becoming activity of primary interest within the scientific community. The

A urine‐based digital PCR assay targeting two hotspot TERT promoter variants detected bladder cancer with high sensitivity and no false positives in this case–control cohort. The streamlined AbsoluteQ workflow outperformed Sanger sequencing and supports non‐invasive molecular testing for bladder cancer detection.

Case history : factory noise prediction using ray tracing : experimental validation and the effectiveness of noise control measures [PDF]
Factory-noise prediction models are invaluable in allowing worker noise-exposure levels in a factory to be evaluated prior to construction and, if necessary, for modifications to be made or noise-control measures to be evaluated.

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

Tunable photo-responsive elastic metamaterials
Here, the authors present a light-responsive elastic metamaterial whose transmission spectrum can be tuned by light stimuli. More specifically, we demonstrate that an appropriate laser illumination is effective in reversibly widening an existing ...

Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐

Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

The acoustic of a courtyard [PDF]
This paper shows the results of acoustic measurements carried out inside a courtyard of the “Reggia of Caserta” (Italy) without audience, and with the aid of a software for architectural acoustics the acoustic characteristics, with audience, were ...

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...
