Cardiovascular effects of noise
The auditory system is continuously analyzing acoustic information, which is filtered and interpreted by different cortical and subcortical brain structures. According to the general stress concept, repeated temporal changes in biological responses can result in permanent metabolic changes of the organism leading to chronic diseases in the long run ...

NOISE EFFECTS IN POLYMER DYNAMICS [PDF]
The study of the noise induced effects on the dynamics of a chain molecule crossing a potential barrier, in the presence of a metastable state, is presented. A two-dimensional stochastic version of the Rouse model for a flexible polymer has been adopted to mimic the molecular dynamics and to take into account the interactions between adjacent monomers.

Newly developed aircraft routing options for air traffic simulation in the chemistry–climate model EMAC 2.53: AirTraf 2.0 [PDF]
Aviation contributes to climate change, and the climate impact of aviation is expected to increase further. Adaptations of aircraft routings in order to reduce the climate impact are an important climate change mitigation measure.

Sensitivities of atmospheric composition and climate to altitude and latitude of hypersonic aircraft emissions [PDF]
Hydrogen-powered hypersonic aircraft are designed to travel in the middle stratosphere at approximately 30–40 km. These aircraft can have a considerable impact on climate-relevant species like stratospheric water vapor, ozone, and methane and thus would ...

Exploring noise annoyance and sound quality for airborne wind energy systems: insights from a listening experiment [PDF]
This study investigates the relationship between sound quality metrics (SQMs) and noise annoyance caused by airborne wind energy systems (AWESs). In a controlled listening experiment, 75 participants rated their annoyance on the International Commission ...

Research on Bridge Damage Identification Based on WPE-MDS and HTF-SAPSO
In recent decades, structural damage identification based on the wavelet analysis method has been widely developed, but it is still confronted with many difficulties, such as large decomposition error and complex data.
