Noise Enhanced Parameter Estimation

IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 2008
This paper investigates the phenomenon of noise enhanced systems for a general parameter estimation problem. When the estimator is fixed and known, the estimation performance before and after the addition of noise are evaluated. Performance comparisons are made between the original estimators and noise enhanced estimators based on different criteria ...

LNA noise parameter measurement

2015 European Conference on Circuit Theory and Design (ECCTD), 2015
Joint measurement of stochastic parameters of a low noise amplifier (LNA), based on output power measurement for input termination impedances is considered. As an advantage of this method the noise parameters can be determined in a quick way for narrow and broad band applications without special equipment.

Effect of noise on the electrocardiographic parameters

International Archives of Occupational and Environmental Health, 2021
Noise, defined as any sound that is unpleasant, is one of the most important environmental problems. Prolonged exposure to noise has been shown to be associated with the development of cardiovascular diseases. No study investigated the effect of noise on surface electrocardiography (ECG).The aim of our study is to investigate the effect of noise on ...

Noise Parameter Estimation from Quantized Data

Proceedings of the 2006 IEEE International Workshop on Advanced Methods for Uncertainty Estimation in Measurement (AMUEM 2006), 2006
In this paper, the parametric estimation of the variance of white Gaussian noise is considered when available data are obtained from a quantized noisy stimulus. The Crameacuter-Rao lower bound is derived, and the statistical efficiency of a maximum-likelihood parametric estimator is discussed, along with the estimation algorithm proposed in IEEE ...

Broadband noise parameter and S-parameter measurement technique

1997 IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Symposium Digest, 2002
An accurate noise parameter measurement technique is presented that uses an amplifier/attenuator noise source, a multi-octave tuner and a directional coupler for noise injection at all tuner states. The presented concept allows measurements with more than 30 different ENR steps and the ability to calibrate the ENR during system calibration.

Parameter estimation in chaotic noise

IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 1996
The problem of parameter estimation in chaotic noise is considered in this paper. Since a chaotic signal is inherently deterministic, a new complexity measure called the phase space volume (PSV) is introduced for estimation instead of using the conventional probabilistic measures.

Analytical Modeling of MOSFETs Channel Noise and Noise Parameters

IEEE Transactions on Electron Devices, 2004
Simple analytical expressions for MOSFETs noise parameters are developed and experimentally verified. The expressions are based on analytical modeling of MOSFETs channel noise, are explicit functions of MOSFETs geometry and biasing conditions, and hence are useful for circuit design purposes.
