Noise Radar Technology and Quantum Radar: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow
2022 IEEE 2nd Ukrainian Microwave Week (UkrMW), 2022In spite of the centennial age of radar, this technology is facing continuous progress. This overview paper considers two significant items in this field, namely Noise Radar Technology (NRT) and Quantum Radar (QR). Status, ongoing research and future perspectives are briefly discussed, not forgetting some critical and controversial elements.

While traditionally employed in acoustics, tomographic imaging techniques have made a transition into the microwave regime and are finding application in areas such as ground penetrating radar (GPR). While excitation methods vary depending upon the application, little or no literature exists on the use of an arbitrary noise waveform as an excitation ...

The Detection of Radar Echoes in Noise. I
Journal of the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics, 1960I.

Preliminary results of the comparative analysis of Quantum Radar (QR) based upon quantum entanglement phenomenon and Noise Radar (NR) based upon classical coherence notion and correlation processing of random signals are presented in the paper. It has been shown that the basic idea of entangled multi-photon QR for simultaneous implementing of high ...

Noise sources in laser radar systems
Applied Optics, 1989To understand the fundamental limit of performance with a given laser radar system, the phase noise of a testbed laser radar has been investigated. Apart from the phase noise in the transmitter laser and the local oscillator laser, additional phase noise was introduced by vibrations caused by fans in power supplies and cooling systems. The stability of

Compressive noise radar for urban sensing
2014 IEEE 8th Sensor Array and Multichannel Signal Processing Workshop (SAM), 2014Ultra-wideband (UWB) noise-like transmit waveforms are ideally suited for implementing compressive radar range-profile imaging systems. Due to useful properties such as robustness to interference, simplicity of hardware design, and high range resolution, UWB noise radar has been successfully applied to urban-sensing scenarios.

Abstract The theories of noise underwent a further change in the 1940s, as physicists, engineers, and mathematicians participated in military research during World War II. Whereas interwar research tackled the nature, causes, and properties of noise, the wartime research focused on the behavior of systems, machines, and devices in noisy ...
