Design of a Dual-Path Speech Enhancement Model

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Although both noise suppression and speech restoration are fundamental to speech enhancement, many Deep neural network (DNN)-based approaches tend to focus disproportionately on one, often overlooking the importance of their joint handling. In this study,

A Novel Phase Noise Suppression Scheme Utilizing Gaussian Wavelet Basis Expansion for PDM CO-OFDM Superchannel

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2020
In this paper, we propose a novel Gaussian wavelet basis expansion-based phase noise suppression scheme for polarization-division-multiplexing (PDM) coherent optical orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (CO-OFDM) superchannel.

Suppression of extraneous thermal noise in cavity optomechanics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Extraneous thermal motion can limit displacement sensitivity and radiation pressure effects, such as optical cooling, in a cavity-optomechanical system. Here we present an active noise suppression scheme and its experimental implementation.

Unique Performance Considerations for Printable Organic Semiconductor and Perovskite Radiation Detectors: Toward Consensus on Best Practice Evaluation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A lack of standard approaches for testing and reporting the performance of metal halide perovskites and organic semiconductor radiation detectors has resulted in inconsistent interpretation of performance parameters, impeding progress in the field. This Perspective recommends key metrics and experimental details, which are suggested for reporting in ...

Random noise suppression of seismic data based on CEEMD-MSSA

open access: yes矿业科学学报
Random noise is one of the common noises in seismic data, which has a direct impact on high-resolution imaging processing and fine interpretation of seismic data. Random noise attenuation methods based on the low-rank hypothesis of seismic data have been

Ferrocene Derivatives Enable Ultrasensitive Perovskite Photodetectors with Enhanced Reverse Bias Stability

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Novel ferrocene derivatives (e.g., FcPhc2) are used as an ultrathin layer hole‐blocking layer, reducing hole injection from the Ag contact. This results in an ultralow noise spectral density of 1.2 × 10−14 A Hz−1/2, and a high specific detectivity of 8.1 × 1012 Jones at −0.5 V.

Demonstration of displacement-noise-free interferometry using bi-directional Mach–Zehnder interferometers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
We have demonstrated displacement- and frequency-noise-free laser interferometry (DFI) by partially implementing a recently proposed optical configuration using bi-directional Mach–Zehnder interferometers (MZIs).
