Review on Icephobicity of Materials Surface Enhanced by Interface Action Force

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, Volume 12, Issue 6, March 16, 2025.
As ‘energy‐free’ passive anti‐icing strategies have not yet been effectively implemented, a comprehensive understanding of the mechanisms through which mechanical forces influence the evolution of solid‐liquid, solid‐liquid/ice interfaces, and solid‐ice interfaces, as well as the integration of mechanical forces with various types of active/passive ...

Video DataFlywheel: Resolving the Impossible Data Trinity in Video-Language Understanding [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Recently, video-language understanding has achieved great success through large-scale pre-training. However, data scarcity remains a prevailing challenge. This study quantitatively reveals an "impossible trinity" among data quantity, diversity, and quality in pre-training datasets.

Study of Supercooled Water Drop Impact on Icephobic Gradient Polymer Coatings

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, Volume 12, Issue 7, April 7, 2025.
This study explores supercooled water drop impacts on gradient polymer coatings across different wind speeds. It finds that increasing the top layer thickness significantly reduces freezing probability, even at high‐impact velocities. The study highlights that surface roughness and wettability alone do not promote freezing, underscoring the importance ...

Noise-shaped PCM for video processing and transmission

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 1991
An easily implementable method is developed to convert conventional K-bit PCM into L-bit PCM (L < K) with a rising spectral noise profile to acquire a substantial word size/bit rate reduction for digitising video signals. It does not require additional oversampling and offers sub-band coding features.

Deploying Partially Cross‐Linked Elastomers to Optimize Adhesion for Long‐Term Surface Electromyography Electrodes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, Volume 12, Issue 9, May 5, 2025.
A novel approach using partially cross‐linked elastomers with conductive carbon black achieves long‐term adhesion and high‐quality signal capture for surface electromyography (sEMG) electrodes. The optimized electrodes demonstrate excellent skin compliance, robust performance through repeated use, and potential applications in wearable biomedical ...

Noise Crystallization and Liquid Noise: Zero-shot Video Generation using Image Diffusion Models [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Although powerful for image generation, consistent and controllable video is a longstanding problem for diffusion models. Video models require extensive training and computational resources, leading to high costs and large environmental impacts. Moreover, video models currently offer limited control of the output motion.

Microneedles with Interdigitated Electrodes for In Situ Impedimetric VEGF Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, Volume 12, Issue 9, May 5, 2025.
An electrochemical device for transdermal monitoring based on flexible polylactide microneedles with interdigitated electrodes enables continuous monitoring of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in interstitial fluid. Gold‐coated microneedles functionalized with anti‐VEGF antibodies, provide an in situ detection platform with high sensitivity ...
