A strained macrocycle consisting solely of azulene subunits, named [6]cycloparaazulenylene ([6]CPA), is presented. The macrocycle exhibits a notably narrow HOMO–LUMO gap for a pristine azulene species, strain‐induced red‐shifted absorption, and an unusual tubular packing motif elucidated via single‐crystal XRD.

The manuscript confirms and expands on previous reports concerning the presence of unusual conjugated hydroxydienoic fatty acids and acetyl‐TAG in the seed oil of Securidaca longipedunculata. The location of acetate only at sn‐2 of TAG was conclusively shown by high resolution NMR and hydroxy seed fatty acids are characterized.

ABSTRACT This study proposes a novel double‐column vapor recompression heat pump (DCVRHP) distillation process for separating ternary wide‐boiling‐range mixtures under two different vapor conditions: n‐hexane/n‐heptane/n‐octane using low pressure steam and n‐hexanol/n‐octanol/n‐decanol using high pressure steam.
