General Minkowski type and related inequalities for seminormed fuzzy integrals

open access: yesSahand Communications in Mathematical Analysis, 2014
Minkowski type inequalities for the seminormed fuzzy integrals on abstract spaces are studied in a rather general form. Also related inequalities to Minkowski type inequality for the seminormed fuzzy integrals on abstract spaces are studied.

Stochastic heat equation limit of a (2+1)d growth model

open access: yes, 2016
We determine a $q\to 1$ limit of the two-dimensional $q$-Whittaker driven particle system on the torus studied previously in [Corwin-Toninelli, arXiv:1509.01605]. This has an interpretation as a $(2+1)$-dimensional stochastic interface growth model, that

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Non-additive measures for quantum probability?

open access: yes
It is well-established that quantum probability does not follow classical Kolmogorov probability calculus. Various approaches have been developed to loosen the axioms, of which the use of signed measures is the most successful (e.g. the Wigner quasiprobability distribution).

Online Learning: Beyond Regret [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We study online learnability of a wide class of problems, extending the results of (Rakhlin, Sridharan, Tewari, 2010) to general notions of performance measure well beyond external regret.

Fock factorizations, and decompositions of the $L^2$ spaces over general Levy processes

open access: yes, 2003
We explicitly construct and study an isometry between the spaces of square integrable functionals of an arbitrary Levy process and a vector-valued Gaussian white noise.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Using instantaneous frequency and aperiodicity detection to estimate F0 for high-quality speech synthesis

open access: yes, 2016
This paper introduces a general and flexible framework for F0 and aperiodicity (additive non periodic component) analysis, specifically intended for high-quality speech synthesis and modification applications.

By dawn or dusk—how circadian timing rewrites bacterial infection outcomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The circadian clock shapes immune function, yet its influence on infection outcomes is only beginning to be understood. This review highlights how circadian timing alters host responses to the bacterial pathogens Salmonella enterica, Listeria monocytogenes, and Streptococcus pneumoniae revealing that the effectiveness of immune defense depends not only
