Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Long‐term hippocampal alterations and cognitive impairment in a murine model of surgical sepsis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Using a mouse model of surgical sepsis, we tested long‐term memory and analyzed the transcriptome of single cells isolated from the hippocampus. Survivor mice showed worse memory, loss of certain brain cell subpopulations, and abnormal immune cell activity—suggesting that post‐sepsis brain alterations may be linked to cognitive deficits.

Survival Benefit and Safety of Anatomic Resection in Cirrhotic Hepatocellular Carcinoma: Propensity‐Matched Analysis of 1699 Patients

open access: yesCancer Medicine
Background The efficacy of anatomic resection (AR) versus non‐anatomic resection (NAR) for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) remains controversial, particularly among patients with differing underlying liver conditions.

Primary Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction. How Do We Do It?

open access: yesJournal of Interdisciplinary Medicine, 2016
Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tears are frequently seen in current practice mostly affecting the young, active subjects, and usually require ligament reconstruction in order to restore normal knee kinematics.

In-contiguity and non-anatomical extension of right hepatic trisectionectomy for liver metastases

open access: yesBritish Journal of Surgery, 2005
Abstract Background In some patients undergoing right hepatic trisectionectomy for metastases, extension of the resection beyond the falciform ligament is necessary to achieve tumour clearance. The aim of the present study was to assess the early and long-term outcomes and hepatic function in patients
