Almost Periodic Solutions and Global Attractors of Non-autonomous Navier-Stokes Equations

open access: yes, 2004
The article is devoted to the study of non-autonomous Navier-Stokes equations. First, the authors have proved that such systems admit compact global attractors.

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Complex Oscillations and Limit Cycles in Autonomous Two-Component Incommensurate Fractional Dynamical Systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
MSC 2010: 26A33, 34D05, 37C25In the paper, long-time behavior of solutions of autonomous two-component incommensurate fractional dynamical systems with derivatives in the Caputo sense is investigated. It is shown that both the characteristic times of the

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Uniform exponential stability of linear almost periodic systems in Banach spaces

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2000
This article is devoted to the study linear non-autonomous dynamical systems possessing the property of uniform exponential stability. We prove that if the Cauchy operator of these systems possesses a certain compactness property, then the uniform ...

Phase space analysis of an exponential model in f(Q) gravity including linear dark-sector interactions

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields
We present a cosmological analysis of an exponential f(Q) gravity model, within the dynamical systems formalism. Following the method introduced by Böhmer et al.

Koopman operator-based model reduction for switched-system control of PDEs

open access: yes, 2019
We present a new framework for optimal and feedback control of PDEs using Koopman operator-based reduced order models (K-ROMs). The Koopman operator is a linear but infinite-dimensional operator which describes the dynamics of observables.

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...
