Improved Detection Schemes for Non-coherent Pulse-Position Modulation
Energy-detection (ED) pulse-position modulation (PPM) receivers exhibit poor performance and low rates. Coherent receivers do not have such problems but their complexity is unacceptable. We propose two detection schemes to increase the performance of non-coherent PPM receivers.

Towards Implementation of Neural Networks for Non-Coherent Detection MIMO systems
In this paper, we propose the use of quantized neural networks to perform non coherent MIMO detector in sub-TeraHertz (THz) communications. Implementing neural networks is challenging because operations are performed using a high number of bits. This results in slow and energy consuming computations.

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Modelling stem cell differentiation related processes—A practical overview for biologists
Stem cell differentiation is complex and difficult to control experimentally. This review introduces suitable computational modelling approaches that can support stem cell research, from mechanistic ODE and abstract models to multiscale and deep learning methods.

PEP analysis of SDP-based non-coherent signal detection [PDF]
In multi-antenna communication systems, channel information is often not known at the receiver. To fully exploit the bandwidth resources of the system and ensure the practical feasibility of the receiver, the channel parameters are often estimated and then employed in the design of signal detection algorithms. However, sometimes communication can occur

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

An Enhanced Non-Coherent Pre-Filter Design for Tracking Error Estimation in GNSS Receivers
Tracking error estimation is of great importance in global navigation satellite system (GNSS) receivers. Any inaccurate estimation for tracking error will decrease the signal tracking ability of signal tracking loops and the accuracies of position fixing,

Finding novel vulnerabilities of hypomorphic BRCA1 alleles
Synthetic lethality screens performed to identify novel vulnerabilities often model complete gene loss, thereby overlooking patient‐derived hypomorphic mutations. In this study, we have performed genome‐wide CRISPR screens on BRCA1 hypomorphic mutations, showing BRCA1I26A behaves like wild‐type, while BRCA1R1699Q mimics deficiency. Furthermore, we have

MITF maintains genome stability in nonmelanocyte lineages
MITF is essential for melanocyte survival and acts as an oncogene in 10%–20% of melanomas. We show that MITF depletion causes genome instability in nonmelanocytic cells, leading to LATS2‐mediated P53 activation, cell cycle arrest, and apoptosis. This study highlights the role of MITF as a genome maintenance factor beyond the melanocyte lineage. Created
