CLINICAL TONOMETRIC MEASUREMENTS WITH THE NON‐CONTACT TONOMETER
American journal of optometry and physiological optic, 1974ABSTRACT The intraocular pressure of clinical patients seen at The Ohio State University College of Optometry Glaucoma Clinic was assessed using the American Optical Non‐Contact Tonometer and the Mackay‐Marg Electronic Tonometer. The intraocular pressure measured by the NCT, in general, was lower than indicated using the electronic ...

Non-contact temperature measurement
NDT & E International, 1991Three methods for noncontact temperature measurement are presented. Ideal gas thermometry is realized by using laser-induced fluorescence to measure the concentration of mercury atoms in a Hg-Ar mixture in the vicinity of hot specimens. Emission polarimetry is investigated by measuring the spatially resolved intensities of polarized light from a hot ...

Non-contact resistivity measurements
Proceedings, 1996Resistivity method finds wide application in many countries for the problems of near-surface geophysics. Frequently at field work by a resistivity method some problems of galvanic contacts with the ground occurs, for example at rocky surfaces, on dry sand, in permafrost regions, on a snow and an ice surface, on asphalt and concrete in cities, etc.

Errors of non-contact temperature measurement
Izvestiya. Ferrous Metallurgy, 2023In recent years, there is a trend of improving the performance and efficiency of all existing measuring instruments due to a leap in technology. Almost every industry uses a variety of technologies that apply temperature control. Temperature of a heated body can be estimated by measuring the parameters of its thermal radiation, which are ...

Non-contact anthropometric measurements in newborn patients
2020 IEEE International Symposium on Medical Measurements and Applications (MeMeA), 2020New born patients require a frequent and periodic collection of some anthropometric data to evaluate their correct growth, particularly during the first weeks of their life. This information allows to eventual detect slow growth rate potentially related to some pathologies of the neonate.

The non-contact human-height measurement scheme
2011 International Conference on Machine Learning and Cybernetics, 2011There are several methods used to measure human height; it includes contact and non-contact measurements. In this research, we develop a fixed laser point triangular distance measurement (FLPTDM) method to construct a non-contact human height measurement scheme.

Non-contact measurement of thermal diffusivity in tissue
Physics in Medicine and Biology, 2001We demonstrate the application of an infrared (IR) imaging technique for non-contact determination of thermal diffusivity in biological materials. The proposed method utilizes pulsed laser excitation to produce an initial three-dimensional temperature distribution in tissue, and records IR images of subsequent heat diffusion.

Non‐contact measurement of structures
Structural Survey, 1990Outlines the system of measuring structural movements and deformations based on the theory of theodolite intersection, which was developed by the Civil Engineering Department of the University of Leeds. Illustrates the principles involved and discusses the several systems available.

Non-Contact Measurement of Line Voltage
IEEE Sensors Journal, 2016This paper presents a capacitively coupled non-contact voltage sensor, which is specifically optimized for monitoring line voltages ranging from plug level to distribution levels at thousands of volts. The sensor uses a new arrangement of electrostatic pickups to measure the rate of change of an unknown potential, and digitally integrates that the rate
