Research on Response Characteristics of Hydraulic Gate Subjected to Non-contact Underwater Explosion Load

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2020
Abstract In this paper, the response characteristics of deep-hole planar steel gates under the separate induction of bubble pulsating load are studied. Through the large-scale finite element simulation software ABAQUS, using the explicit dynamic finite element analysis method, the contact surface of the gate and the water is taken into ...

Measurement of Naval Ship Responses to Underwater Explosion Shock Loadings

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2003
The shock-resistance capability of battle ships against a non-contact underwater explosion (UNDEX) is a very critical factor of survivability. In July 1987 and April 2000, we successfully conducted UNDEX shock tests for a coastal mine hunter (MHC) and a ...

Effects of underwater explosion bubble on shock environment of warship

open access: yesZhongguo Jianchuan Yanjiu, 2018
[Objectives] In order to standardize the load system of a hull's shock environment and study the effects of bubble pulsation pressure on a hull's shock environment, [Methods] acoustic-structure coupling methods are used to simulate a hull subjected to a ...

Analysis on impact resistance of reed contact switch for naval ships

open access: yesZhongguo Jianchuan Yanjiu, 2019
[Objectives] As an important component of the connecting circuit, the reed contact switch has been widely used in the electrical system of the naval ship. The switch is very sensitive to underwater non-contact explosion impact, and thus once damaged,it may

Underwater Shock Response of Circular HSLA Steel Plates

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2000
Studies on shock response of circular plates subjected to underwater explosion is of interest to ship designers. Non-contact underwater explosion experiments were carried out on air backed circular High Strength Low Alloy (HSLA) steel plates of 4 mm ...

Radiometric Constraints on the Timing, Tempo, and Effects of Large Igneous Province Emplacement

open access: yesGeophysical Monograph Series, Page 27-82., 2021

Exploring the links between Large Igneous Provinces and dramatic environmental impact

An emerging consensus suggests that Large Igneous Provinces (LIPs) and Silicic LIPs (SLIPs) are a significant driver of dramatic global environmental and biological changes, including mass extinctions.

Programming of Complex Magnetic Profiles Enforced by 4D Printed Magnetic LCE Actuators

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A 4D printing‐enabled magnetic programming strategy is introduced in which thermally actuated liquid crystal elastomers are magnetized in their target shape to encode complex three‐dimensional magnetic profiles. The resulting actuators achieve multistate shape morphing and programmable locomotion under low magnetic fields, without requiring specialized

A Geometrically Transient Platform for Bioelectronic Implants

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Minimally invasive bioelectronic implants often compromise performance for smaller sizes. To resolve this optimization dilemma, a wireless bioelectronic implant with a transient geometry is introduced (MiFi). The origami‐inspired device miniaturizes up to sixfold for syringe insertion and autonomously unfolds post‐implantation.

Ultrathin Hydrogel Membranes Inspired by Soap Films Enable Physiologically Relevant Breathing Lung Models

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A soap‐film inspired strategy enables the fabrication of ultrathin yet robust GelMA‐PAAm membranes for breathing lung culture. The hydrogel membrane supports long‐term cyclic deformation under air‐liquid interface conditions, enabling physiologically relevant breathing motions of engineered lung tissue culture. ABSTRACT Breathing continuously stretches
