The Pathophysiological Role of Heat Shock Response in Autoimmunity: A Literature Review
Within the last two decades, there has been increasing evidence that heat-shock proteins can have a differential influence on the immune system. They can either provoke or ameliorate immune responses.

Virulence and the heat shock response
The major adaptive response to elevation in temperature is the heat shock response that involves the induction of many proteins--called heat shock proteins. These include chaperones, proteases, alternative sigma factors and other regulatory and structural proteins.

The Fiscal Response to Revenue Shocks [PDF]
AbstractWe study the impact of fiscal revenue shocks on local fiscal policy. We focus on the very volatile revenues from the immovable property gains tax in the canton of Zurich, Switzerland, and analyze fiscal behavior following large and rare positive and negative transitory revenue shocks.

Thermodynamics of Heat-Shock Response [PDF]
Production of heat shock proteins are induced when a living cell is exposed to a rise in temperature. The heat shock response of protein DnaK synthesis in E.coli for temperature shifts from temperature T to T plus 7 degrees, respectively to T minus 7 degrees is measured as function of the initial temperature T. We observe a reversed heat shock at low T.

Study on Energy Dissipation Characteristic of Ice-Rich Frozen Soil in SHPB Compression Tests
Frozen soil will inevitably bear dynamic loads (impact and blasting) in the construction process in cold regions; the investigation of dynamic energy dissipation characteristic of ice-rich frozen soil is beneficial to optimize blasting parameters and the

Approximate computing of shock response spectrum using reduced impedance method
This paper presents an approximate computing method of a shock response spectrum induced by a drop-weight shock test. The proposed method is based on a reduced impedance method, and computes the shock response spectrum by synthesizing the vibration ...
