Comparison of Digital Subtraction Angiography and Non-Contrast-Enhanced Magnetic Resonance Angiography Findings in Imaging Carotid Arteries

open access: yes
Objective: This study aimed to compare the diagnostic effectiveness and precision of non-contrast magnetic resonance angiography (MRA) with the most reliable digital subtraction angiography (DSA) findings in imaging the cervical segment of the carotid ...

Dual-energy CT Virtual Non-contrast as a Low-radiation Alternative to True Non-contrast in Crohn’s Disease Enterography

open access: yesCT Lilun yu yingyong yanjiu
: Objective: To explore the application value of dual-energy CT virtual non-contrast (VNC) instead of true non-contrast (TNC) in reducing the radiation dose of small intestine radiography in Crohn's disease. Methods: Dual-energy enterography images of 53

Non-contrast magnetic resonance imaging for detection of late recurrent hepatocellular carcinoma after curative treatment: a prospective multicenter comparison to contrast-enhanced computed tomography [PDF]

open access: yesClinical and Molecular Hepatology
Background/Aims Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) frequently recurs after curative treatment, posing challenges to long-term survival. Although contrast-enhanced multiphasic computed tomography (CECT) is commonly used for detecting recurrence, it is ...

Septin 9 PB domains coordinate centrosome positioning and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

Rab14 regulates the transport of human papillomavirus to the trans‐Golgi network for infectious cell entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.

Salmonella lipopolysaccharide‐containing supported lipid bilayers as platforms to study bacteriophage interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

Contrast-enhanced Ultrasound for Non-tumor Liver Diseases

open access: yesJournal of Nepal Medical Association, 2012
Contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) is a simple, safe and reliable technique for the clinical management of patients with various liver diseases. Although the major target of the technique may be focal hepatic lesions, it is also effective for the ...

Non-Contrast-Enhancing Tumor: A New Frontier in Glioblastoma Research

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Neuroradiology, 2019
SUMMARY: There is a growing understanding of the prognostic importance of non-contrast-enhancing tumor in glioblastoma, and recent attempts at more aggressive management of this component using neurosurgical resection and radiosurgery have been shown to ...
