On a Simplified Method of Defining Characteristic Function in Stochastic Games

open access: yesMathematics, 2020
In the paper, we propose a new method of constructing cooperative stochastic game in the form of characteristic function when initially non-cooperative stochastic game is given. The set of states and the set of actions for any player is finite.

Review of Ship Collision Avoidance Guidance Algorithms Using Remote Sensing and Game Control

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2022
This work provides a mathematical description of a process game for the safe driving of a ship that encounters other ships. State and control constraint variables, as well as a set of acceptable ship tactics, are taken into consideration.

Non-cooperative Monomino Games

open access: yes, 2017
In this paper we study monomino games. These are two player games played on a rectangular board with R rows and C columns. The game pieces are monominoes, which cover exactly one cell of the board. One by one each player selects a column of the board, and places a monomino in the lowest uncovered cell. This generates a payoff for the player.

The Good, The Bad and The Cautious: Safety Level Cooperative Games [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We study safety level coalitions in competitive games. Given a normal form game, we define a corresponding cooperative game with transferable utility, where the value of each coalition is determined by the safety level payoff it derives in the original---

Shall we play together? Game-based learning for engagement and classroom climate in Spanish socially deprived communities

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2023
PurposeThe purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of a game-based learning (GBL) program on the classroom climate and engagement of high schools in socially deprived communities in Spain.MethodsThe study included 277 students from two secondary ...

A Model for Cooperative Advertising and Pricing Decisions in Manufacturer-Retailer Supply Chain with Discount: A Game Theory Approach [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Supply and Operations Management, 2016
Coordinating the supply chain is among the most important subjects that is extensively addressed in the related literature. If a supply chain is to be coordinated, it is equivalent to say that we must solve a problem related to competition and ...

Multidimensional Evolution Effects on Non-Cooperative Strategic Games

open access: yesMathematics
In this study, we examine how the strategies of the players over multiple time scales impact the decision making, resulting payoffs and the costs in non-cooperative strategic games.

Microbiome−host proteostasis crosstalk—An emerging perspective on mechanisms and interventions toward healthy longevity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Proteostasis and the gut microbiota play a key role in shaping host physiology. Microbiota‐derived metabolites, vitamins, and RNA modulate host proteostasis. Findings from model systems, including C. elegans, indicate microbes can either stabilize or disrupt host proteostasis.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in
