Anisotropic compactification of nonrelativistic M-theory
We study a decoupling limit of M-theory where the three-form gauge potential becomes critical. This limit leads to nonrelativistic M-theory coupled to a non-Lorentzian spacetime geometry.

D-instantons in non-critical open string theory [PDF]
We show that the strength of the leading non-perturbative effects in non-critical string theory is of the order $e^{-O(1/{β_{st}})}$. We show how this restricts the space of consistent theories. We also identify non-critical one dimensional D-instantons as dynamical objects which exchange closed string states and calculate the order of their size.

Islands and Page curves in 4d from Type IIB
Variants of the black hole information paradox are studied in Type IIB string theory setups that realize four-dimensional gravity coupled to a bath. The setups are string theory versions of doubly-holographic Karch/Randall brane worlds, with black holes ...

Swampland conjectures for an almost topological gravity theory
We analyze AdS and dS swampland conjectures in a three-dimensional higher spin theory with self-interacting matter, which contains conformal gravity and is almost topological.

BOSONIZATION OF A TOPOLOGICAL COSET MODEL AND NON-CRITICAL STRING THEORY [PDF]
We analyze the relation between a topological coset model based on super SL(2, R)/U(1) coset and non-critical string theory by using free field realization. We show that the twisted N=2 algebra of the coset model can be naturally transformed into that of non-critical string.

Aspects of brane world-volume dynamics in string theory [PDF]
PhDThis thesis investigates the non-abelian dynamics of D-Brane systems in String Theory, specifically focussing on the fate of the open string Tachyon.

On unitarity of tree-level string amplitudes
Four-particle tree-level scattering amplitudes in string theory are magically consistent with unitarity, reflected in the non-trivial fact that beneath the critical dimension, the residues of the amplitudes on massive poles can be expanded in partial ...

Non-critical type 0 string theories and their field theory duals [PDF]
In this paper we continue the study of the non-critical type 0 string and its field theory duals. We begin by reviewing some facts and conjectures about these theories. We move on to our proposal for the type 0 effective action in any dimension, its RR fields and their Chern--Simons couplings.

Critical string from non-Abelian vortex in four dimensions
In a class of non-Abelian solitonic vortex strings supported in certain N=2 super-Yang–Mills theories we search for the vortex which can behave as a critical fundamental string.

T T ¯ $$ T\overline{T} $$ deformed CFT as a non-critical string
We present a new exact treatment of T T ¯ $$ T\overline{T} $$ deformed 2D CFT in terms of the worldsheet theory of a non-critical string. The transverse dimensions of the non-critical string are represented by the undeformed CFT, while the two ...
