Stability of parabolic equations in non-cylindrical domains

open access: yes
This paper addresses the stability of a class of parabolic equations in non-cylindrical domains. We investigate the $L^\infty$-stability of systems for both nondegenerate and degenerate cases. Unlike in cylindrical domains, solutions to such problems may not exhibit exponential decay. An interesting phenomenon observed is that degeneracy has a positive

The damped wave equation in a noncylindrical domain

open access: yesDifferential and Integral Equations, 1994
The authors prove some regularity results for the solution of the damped wave equation in a noncylindrical domain. More precisely, for the solution of the problem \[ {\partial^ 2u \over \partial t^ 2} = \Delta \left( u + \rho {\partial u \over \partial t} \right) + f \quad \text{in } Q, \] \[ u + \rho {\partial u \over \partial t} = 0 \quad \text{on ...

Development of a Three‐Axis Planar Hall Magnetoresistance Sensor Using a Superparamagnetic Nanoparticle‐Based Flux Guide

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A printed superparamagnetic nanoparticle‐based flux guide enables the realization of a hysteresis‐free three‐axis magnetic sensor. This innovative architecture efficiently redirects out‐of‐plane fields to planar sensing elements, facilitating simultaneous vector detection without complex reset protocols.

Bioinspired Hierarchically Interconnected Supermacroporous Hydrogels via Dual‐Templating for Rapid Atmospheric Water Harvesting

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Inspired by lung alveolar architecture, a dual‐templating strategy combining CO2 bubble and ice templating creates mechanically robust super‐macroporous hydrogels with highly interconnected transport pathways. The resulting material achieves 3.37× faster moisture sorption and 1.72× higher solar‐driven water release than single‐templated counterparts ...

Micromagnetic Domain Structures in Cylindrical Nickel Dots [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
The magnetic domain structures of cylindrical nickel dots (diameters from 40 nm to 1700 nm) with anisotropy parallel to the cylinder axis is predicted by the ratio of the dot diameter to the stripe period of unpatterned films with the same perpendicular ...
