Parallel algorithm for numerical solution of heat equation in complex cylindrical domain

open access: yesDiscrete and Continuous Models and Applied Computational Science, 2019
In this article we present a parallel algorithm for simulation of the heat conduction process inside the so-called pulse cryogenic cell. This simulation is important for designing the device for portion injection of working gases into ionization chamber ...

Intrinsic Photoactive Star ZnPc–Poly(glutamate) Nanoplatforms for Multimodal Glioblastoma Therapy and Brain‐Targeted Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An intrinsic photoactive star‐shaped zinc phtalocyanine‐poly(L‐glutamic acid) (ZnPc‐PGA) nanoplatform for multimodal glioblastoma (GBM) therapy and brain‐targeted elivery. A ZnPc‐PGA‐based multifunctional theranostic nanocarrier platform enables image‐guided, multimodal GBM therapy. ZnPc‐PGA nanocarriers support the integration of fluorescence imaging,

Titanium Suboxides Responsible for Electronic Anomaly Near Room Temperature in the Ti3C2Tx MXene

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Our multi‐technique study reveals that the near‐room‐temperature anomaly in Ti3C2Tx MXene is linked to titanium suboxide nanodomains, including Ti3O5, embedded within the MXene host. Their temperature‐driven transformation provides an alternative explanation to solvent‐ and swelling‐based models and offers new insight into the thermally activated ...

Electrode and Microstructure Dependence of Oxygen Diffusion in Ferroelectric Hafnium Zirconium Oxide Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Significant nanoscale oxygen diffusion coefficient variations are measured in ferroelectric hafnium zirconium oxide films with grain boundaries and electrode interfaces exhibiting values 104 times larger than the grain cores. Overall coefficients are 10X larger for films prepared with metal nitride electrodes compared to refractory metals. New insights

Equilibrium bi-domain configuration in cylindrical magnetic microparticles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
This report is on the equilibrium bi-domain structure in magnetic microparticles of cylindrical shape with circular or elliptic cross-section and finite thickness. The model is for two coaxial 180 degree domains.

Development of a methodology for collaborative control within a WEC array

open access: yesInternational Marine Energy Journal, 2018
It has been established that Wave Energy Converters efficiency can be improved by control. One of the main challenges of reactive control is the non-causality of the optimal controller.

Chiral Phase Change Nanomaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates reversible, non‐volatile phase transitions in chiral Ge2${\rm Ge}_2$Sb2${\rm Sb}_2$Te5${\rm Te}_5$ (GST) nanohelices for high‐speed optical modulation of chirality and dynamic control of the state of polarization (SOP). The chiral nanostructures are fabricated using a highly directional, wafer‐scale physical vapor deposition ...

EXACT OBSERVABILITY OF A 1D WAVE ON A NON-CYLINDRICAL DOMAIN [PDF]

open access: yes
We discuss admissibility and exact observability estimates of boundary observation and interior point observation of a one-dimensional wave equation on a time dependent domain for sufficiently regular boundary functions.
