Non-Equilibrium Evolution of Disoriented Chiral Condensates

The nonequilibrium time evolution of the hot hadronic plasma produced in a relativistic heavy ion collision is studied in the O(N) linear sigma model to leading order in the large N expansion. The chiral phase transition to the broken symmetry phase as the plasma expands and cools is described by the evolution of the order parameter .

Collisional energy transfer modeling in non-equilibrium condensing flows

Inelastic energy transfer rates between dimers and monomers have been found to be important in reproducing the equilibrium constant for dimers in a kinetic model. Molecular dynamics and DSMC models for energy transfer in argon dimer ‐ argon monomer collisions are compared.
