Atomized Oxidative Polymerization as a 3D Printing Platform for Binder‐Free, Bulk Conductive Polymer Architectures

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Co‐delivery of electrosprayed EDOT and oxidant enables bulk oxidative polymerization during layer‐by‐layer fabrication, creating stable, highly conductive 3D PEDOT structures. This Atomized Oxidative Polymerization (AOP) overcomes the surface deposition‐only and matrix‐limited conductivity of conventional Vapor Phase Polymerization (VPP) and PEDOT:PSS ...

About Defining the Referent Thermal Scale Points

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Description of Complex Systems, 2013
The absolute temperature T has a recognized physical meaning in equilibrium thermodynamics. The scale realized by the closely related Lagrange coefficient "b" usually figures as an auxiliary scale.

Steering Oxygen Activation Pathways via Redox Dual‐Defects in 2D Hydrated WO3 for High‐Yield Singlet Oxygen Evolution

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Redox dual‐defects (Cs substitution and O vacancies) in 2D hydrated WO3 steer O2 activation toward selective singlet oxygen evolution. WO‐CO achieves 8.6–15.8 times higher 1O2 production than single‐defect or pristine catalysts, enabling efficient pollutant mineralization via a pathway‐selective photocatalytic mechanism.

A Non-equilibrium Thermodynamic Framework of Consciousness

open access: yesCoRR, 2020
In this paper, we take a brief look at the advantages and disadvantages of dominant frameworks in consciousness studies -- functionalist and causal structure theories, and use it to motivate a new non-equilibrium thermodynamic framework of consciousness.

Bandgap‐Engineered AlGaAs/GaAs Heterostructures for Wavelength‐Selective Dual‐Polarity Photoelectrochemistry

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Bandgap‐engineered AlGaAs/GaAs heterostructures exhibit wavelength‐selective dual‐polarity photoelectrochemistry, switching from photocathodic to photoanodic response depending on excitation wavelength. The polarity transition is governed by band‐selective absorption, built‐in electric‐field‐driven carrier transport, and interfacial charge‐transfer ...

Relativistic Statistical Mechanics vs. Relativistic Thermodynamics

open access: yesEntropy, 2011
Based on a covariant theory of equilibrium Thermodynamics, a Statistical Relativistic Mechanics is developed for the non-interacting case. Relativistic Thermodynamics and Jüttner Relativistic Distribution Function in a moving frame are obtained by using ...

Mesoscopic thermodynamics of stationary non-equilibrium states [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Thermodynamics for systems at non-equilibrium stationary states have been formulated, based on the assumption of the existence of a local equilibrium in phase space which enables one to interpret the probability density and its conjugated non-equilibrium

Review of Thermally Activated Twisted Coiled Polymer Actuators: A Materials Science Perspective

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Thermally activated twisted and coiled polymer actuators (TCPAs) combine lightweight design, large deformation, and scalable fabrication for soft robotic and wearable applications. This review connects polymer structure, processing history, helix geometry, and thermomechanical characterization to actuator performance, highlighting current challenges in

Some Trends in Quantum Thermodynamics

open access: yesEntropy, 2014
Traditional answers to what the 2nd Law is are well known. Some are based on the microstate of a system wandering rapidly through all accessible phase space, while others are based on the idea of a system occupying an initial multitude of states due to ...
