Non-exhaust emission measurement system of the mobile laboratory SNIFFER
Atmospheric Environment, 2009In this paper we describe and quality assure the sampling system of a mobile research laboratory SNIFFER which was shown to be a useful tool for studying emission levels of respirable dust from street surfaces. The dust plume had bimodal structure; another mode rising to higher altitudes whereas the other mode remained at lower altitudes.

Characteristics and Mitigation of Vehicular Non-exhaust Particle Emissions in Nordic Conditions
2019Assessment of air pollution health effects of road traffic should accurately characterize also the non-exhaust sources to support efficient emission mitigation. The use of the recently developed new-generation non-exhaust emission models opens new opportunities to extend and improve the traffic PM emission factors and the emission inventories.

Non-exhaust vehicle emissions of particulate matter and VOC from road traffic
Atmospheric Environment, 2021As exhaust emissions of particles and volatile organic compounds (VOC) from road vehicles have progressively come under greater control, non-exhaust emissions have become an increasing proportion of the total emissions, and in many countries now exceed exhaust emissions.

Emission, Transformation, and Health Impacts of vehicular non-exhaust pollutants
Vehicular non-exhaust emissions have become a dominant source of particulate pollution in urban areas. In this work, we systematically investigated the emission, transformation, and health effects of vehicular non-exhaust pollutants. Our study focused on three key aspects: (1) real-world emissions and contributions of brake wear particles (BWPs) and ...Jianfei Peng +5 more

Vehicle Non-Exhaust Emissions: impact on Air Quality
2018Although the overall toxicity of bulk atmospheric particles is well known, researchers and air quality managers still face difficulties in the understanding of the most harmful species and sources, which is based on the knowledge of their individual impact on PMx levels.

Mineral characterization of a major source of the traffic-related non-exhaust emissions
Nowadays the relative contribution of non-exhaust emissions (NEEs) to the total traffic-related PM10 has increased to 60–90% (Piscitello et al., 2021) due to engine developments, tightening emission standards and the growing share of electric vehicles.Beatrix Jancsek-Turóczi +3 more
