Germanium-Based Temperonic Crystal

open access: yesCrystals
We propose a germanium-based temperonic crystal consisting of a two-layer unit cell designed to enable interference of thermal waves in the non-Fourier regime.

Synergistic Cu‐Fe Interactions Enhance Phase Transformation Kinetics Toward High‐Performance CuFeS2‐Based All‐Solid‐State Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
CuFeS2 is found to induce the formation of intermediate phases, highlighting a strong Cu–Fe synergistic effect during conversion reactions in lithium all‐solid‐state batteries (Li‐SSBs). The integrated reaction pathway effectively suppresses phase separation and accelerates reaction kinetics, leading to enhanced electrochemical reversibility and ...

Hedging error in Lévy models with a Fast Fourier Transform approach [PDF]

open access: yes
We measure, in terms of expectation and variance, the cost of hedging a contingent claim when the hedging portfolio is re-balanced at a discrete set of dates.

Enriching harmonic balance with non‐smooth Bernoulli bases for accelerated convergence of non‐smooth periodic systems

open access: yesTheoretical and Applied Mechanics Letters
The harmonic balance method (HBM) has been widely applied to get the periodic solution of nonlinear systems, however, its convergence rate as well as computation efficiency is dramatically degraded when the system is highly non-smooth, e.g ...

Nano‐Scale Characterization of Impurities Segregation in Solid Oxide Electrolysis Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Cathodic polarization induces impurity segregation in Ni, forming an amorphous Na─Al─Si─O amorphous phase at grain boundaries. Under ultralow oxygen partial pressure, multiple elements dissolve, migrate, and reoxidize within the metal. A patterned model system provides direct nanoscale evidence, clarifying the mechanism of polarization‐driven impurity ...

Non-Fourier Motion in the Fourier Spectrum [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Typically, image motion analysis in the frequency domain is performed according to the Motion From Fourier Coefficients, or MFFC principle. However, this principle excludes a class of motion that does not generate power spectra containing the origin of ...

Submicron Metasurface Reconfigured Multiband Smart Windows

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents a submicron metasurface reconfigured multiband thermochromic smart window. By integrating subwavelength nanostructures into a Fabry−Perot resonator configuration, it mitigates conventional trade‐offs to simultaneously deliver high luminous transmittance and robust solar heating and radiative cooling modulation capabilities ...

Giant Magnetic Coercivity Driven by Spin‐Bag Ferromagnetism in Epitaxial Sr3YCo4O10+δ Films with Engineered 2D Oxygen Vacancy Ordering

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A giant magnetic coercivity and a vertical shift of hysteresis loops are demonstrated in Sr3YCo4O10+δ epitaxial films. The hard magnetic behavior originates from ferromagnetic spin bags stabilized within a long‐range ordered oxygen‐vacancy structure.

Thermoelastic fracture analysis of porous metal foams under cold shock using the dual-phase-lag model

open access: yesCase Studies in Thermal Engineering
Some experimental evidence has proved that the Fourier heat conduction theory cannot precisely describe the transient thermal transport in porous media.
