Computational analysis of non-Fourier motion
Vision Research, 1994Non-Fourier motion is now commonplace in research on visual motion perception, yet lacks a computational framework. This paper examines this issue based on the observation that many non-Fourier motion stimuli have a simple characterization in the frequency domain, in terms of oriented power distributions that lie along lines (or planes) that do not ...

Non‐fourier encoding with multiple spin echoes
Magnetic Resonance in Medicine, 1997AbstractThe advantages and limitations of multiple spin‐echo sequences for non‐Fourier encoding are investigated. Complications caused by improper encoding of alternate magnetization pathways due to imperfect refocusing pulses are analyzed. It is shown that mirror image ghosts result if the encoding RF pulse matrix is real‐valued.

Non-Fourier heat conduction in IC chip
[1992 Proceedings] Intersociety Conference on Thermal Phenomena in Electronic Systems, 1995Instead of the classic Fourier equation based on diffusion, a hyperbolic equation based on a wave model has been used to predict the rapid transient heat conduction in IC chips. The peak temperature, spatial difference, and time variation of temperature, which are critical to thermal reliability of the chip, are given and compared with that obtained ...

Non-Fourier Thermal Stresses in a Circular Disk
AIAA Journal, 1984Since most of previous thermoelastic work has been for one-dimensional Cartesian geometries only, the purpose of this note is to present a non- Fourier thermoelastic study in a cylindrical geometry. Specifically, the present study is concerned with the axisymmetric, uncoupled thermoelastic problem in the interior region, \(r\leq a^*\).

Conjunctive Descriptions Based on Non-Fourier Representations
Digital Signal Processing, 1999Abstract The notion of conjunctive descriptions of signals as a generalization of the time–frequency distributions was introduced some time ago (Moharir, 1990). This paper discusses some of those which are akin to Rihaczek distribution but based on non-Fourier transforms. For few deterministic signals they are computed and a visual comparison is made
