Fractional Dual-Phase-Lag Non-Fourier Heat Transfer in a Bimaterial with a Circular Interface Insulator

The transient temperature response of a bimaterial with a circular insulated interface region is studied under sudden heating or cooling. The time-fractional dual-phase-lag heat conduction model is adopted to simulate the non-Fourier effect. The problem is reduced to an initial-boundary value problem.

The phase change in biological tissues during a freezing process is simulated by hyperbolic and parabolic heat equations with temperature-dependent enthalpy. It is observed that the experimental results are in a good agreement with that the calculated results by the enthalpy method.

Numerical solution of non-Fourier heat transfer during laser irradiation on tooth layers

This study reports on the simulation of temperature distribution of human tooth under a laser beam based on non-Fourier models. The temperature in the tooth depth that directly results from the conduction heat transfer process is caused by the lengthy thermal relaxation time in the tooth layers.

Size-dependent thermal conductivity in nanosystems based on non-Fourier heat transfer

Based on a phonon hydrodynamic equation, we derive an analytical model to predict the effective thermal conductivity along dielectric thin films or nanowires with smooth wall surface. The model contains only two parameters: bulk thermal conductivity and Knudsen number, no other fitting parameter included.
