SEM studies on the leaf indumentum of six Melastomataceae species from Brazilian Cerrado

open access: yesRodriguésia
The wide diversity of their trichomes, which vary from simple unicellular to very complex structures, is a remarkable characteristic in Melastomataceae. This paper characterizes the leaf indumentum of Miconia albicans (Sw.) Triana, M.

Systematic Multi‐Level Analyses Decode the Arthritis‐Neurodegeneration Axis With In Vivo Validation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Arthritis and neurodegeneration are usually studied as separate disorders, but this study connects them through population evidence, genetic inference, transcriptomic mapping, and mouse models. It highlights RNF40 as a context‐dependent joint‐brain candidate, induced in inflammatory joints yet functionally linked to dopamine‐neuron vulnerability ...

Long Noncoding RNA PCALRx Interacts with Pyruvate Carboxylase to Drive Multi‐Organ Developmental Toxicity in Zebrafish Embryos Exposed to Amoxicillin

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Embryonic amoxicillin exposure disrupts multi‐organ development in zebrafish larvae through a lncRNA–metabolic enzyme regulatory axis. PCALRx associates with pyruvate carboxylase, promotes PC protein ubiquitination, and impairs mitochondrial energy metabolism, while vitamin B1 partially restores PC‐centered metabolic function and developmental outcomes.

Single‐Cell Transcriptomics and Metabolomics Reveal Glutamate Dehydrogenase as a Central Regulator of Nitrogen Metabolic Remodeling During Alkalinity Adaptation in Crustaceans

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Single‐cell transcriptomics reveals the cellular response of Macrobrachium hainanense to carbonate alkalinity stress. Alkalinity stress impairs branchial ammonia excretion, induces mitochondrial dysfunction, and drives cell‐type‐specific changes in gills and hemocytes.

Minimum 6 mm core length is strongly predictive for the presence of glandular tissue in transrectal prostate biopsy

open access: yes, 2015
Prostate biopsy guidelines recommend that a prostate biopsy not containing glandular prostate tissue should be reported as inadequate. In the literature, there is a lack of any study that addresses the relationship between the length of biopsy cores and ...

Neuromorphic Devices and Computing for Sensing, Memory, and Control

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This review introduces neuromorphic devices made from diverse materials. These devices mimic neuronal functions and architectures and, when integrated with artificial or biological computing, can form closed loops with neurons for pressure, optical, acoustic, and biochemical sensing and modulation.

Glandular odontogenic cyst: Two high-risk cases treated with conservative approaches

open access: yes, 2011
The glandular odontogenic cyst is a rare jawbone cyst that is considered to be an independent entity, although its histopathological characteristics may lead to an incorrect diagnosis as a low-grade mucoepidermoid carcinoma.
