A clinico-morphological study of glandular hyperplasias of uterine cervix [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Background: Non neoplastic lesions of uterine cervix form a major bulk of the Diagnosis in histopathological departments. Some of the non-neoplastic lesions of uterine cervix mainly exuberant processes like glandular hyperplasias are prone to varying ...

Regulation of the lncRNA NEAT1 by p53‐ΔNp63 crosstalk modulates the DNA damage response and therapeutic efficacy in HNSCC

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) p53 and p63 exert opposite roles on the transcription regulation of the lncRNA NEAT1. Under basal conditions, p53 levels are low and p63 represses NEAT1 expression. Upon genotoxic stress, p53 is rapidly induced, displacing p63 from the NEAT1 promoter leading to NEAT1 transcriptional activation and ...

De novo synthesis of short‐chain aldehydes and hydrocarbons secreted by the brown marmorated stink bug Halyomorpha halys

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The brown marmorated stink bug, Halyomorpha halys, mainly secretes 4‐oxo‐(E)‐2‐hexenal, (E)‐2‐decenal, dodecane and tridecane, a mixture representative of that released by many heteropterans. We demonstrated that H. halys can synthesise these secretory components de novo using dietary glucose.

Protective and defensive roles of non-glandular trichomes against multiple stresses: structure–function coordination [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Forestry Research, 2019
AbstractAs superficial structures, non-glandular trichomes, protect plant organs against multiple biotic and abiotic stresses. The protective and defensive roles of these epidermal appendages are crucial to developing organs and can be attributed to the excellent combination of suitable structural traits and chemical reinforcement in the form of ...

An investigation of the glandular and non‐glandular foliar trichomes of Orthosiphon labiatus N.E.Br. [Lamiaceae] [PDF]

open access: yesNew Zealand Journal of Botany, 2010
Abstract Using a combination of light (stereo and compound) and scaning electron microscopy, this study investigates the distribution and morphology of foliar trichomes of Orthosiphon labiatus (Lamiaceae) at different stages of leaf development. Three types of trichomes were

Characterizing Cutaneous α‐Synuclein Deposition and Seeding Activity in Parkinson's Disease Subtypes

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Cutaneous phosphorylated α‐synuclein (p‐syn) and α‐synuclein seeding activity are promising biomarkers for Parkinson's disease (PD), but their clinical value remains uncertain due to disease heterogeneity. This study evaluates these two biomarkers in PD patients to inform phenotype‐specific diagnosis and disease severity assessment ...

SOME ANATOMICAL ASPECTS CONCERNING GLANDULAR AND NONGLANDULAR TRICHOMES PRESENTS ON PEPEROMIA SPECIES CULTIVATED OF BOTANICAL GARDEN OF IASI [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Plant Development, 2004
The present paper is focused on glandular and non-glandular trichomes of eight taxa from Peperomia genus. We point out the histo-anatomical features for each taxons by using MO and MEB methods.

The Gut–Heart Axis in Systemic Sclerosis: Evidence From a Large Prospective Early Disease Cohort

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Cardiac involvement significantly impacts prognosis in systemic sclerosis (SSc), highlighting the need for early risk stratification. Gastrointestinal (GI) symptoms are common and often manifest early. Emerging data suggest a link between GI and cardiac manifestations, possibly through shared mechanisms like dysautonomia.

Understanding the Burden of Orofacial Involvement and Patient Treatment Preferences in Systemic Sclerosis: Results From a Large International Survey

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Orofacial manifestations are significantly impactful in patients with systemic sclerosis (SSc) yet remain understudied, with no dedicated clinical guidelines to inform their management. Methods An international online survey comprised38 questions addressing orofacial manifestations of SSc, including patients’ confidence in their treating ...
