Analysis of Displacements of Non-homogenous Granular Pile in Non-homogenous Ground

Proceedings of the International Conference on Ground Improvement & Ground Control, 2012
Granular Piles modified with an anchor at the base called Granular Pile Anchor (GPA) can resist pullout load in addition to compressive loads. Analysis of displacements of GPA whose modulus of deformation increases linearly with depth in homogenous ground is presented.

NTIRE 2024 Dense and Non-Homogeneous Dehazing Challenge Report

2024 IEEE/CVF Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition Workshops (CVPRW)
This study examines the results of the NTIRE 2024 Challenge on Dense and Non-Homogeneous Dehazing. Innovative methods were introduced and tested using a new image dataset named DNH-HAZE. The DNH-HAZE dataset comprises 50 pairs of authentic outdoor images

A Theorem on Non-Homogeneous Lattices

The Annals of Mathematics, 1952
Tchebotareff, in his paper (11) dealing with Minkowski's conjecture, used a technique, depending on the additive properties of lattices, to show that, if the determinant d(A) is given, there is a point x of A such that a certain function f(x)-in his case I X1 X2 * * I -is less than a certain constant.

Undrained basal stability of braced circular excavations in non-homogeneous clays with linear increase of strength with depth

Computers and geotechnics, 2019
Braced circular excavations are commonly used as one of effective retaining structures in practice. Despite a number of studies in the past on the stability of this problem, its stability solution under the framework of lower bound limit analysis is very

On the effect of non-homogeneity

Pure and Applied Geophysics, 1973
Effects of non-homogeneity in respect of rigidity have been computed in the case of a gravitating sphere with a rigid core. For an isotropic spherical shell the effect of variation of rigidity has been calculated when the shell is under pressure or when the shell is subjected to some steady temperature on its internal surface.

Lower bound solutions for undrained face stability of plane strain tunnel headings in anisotropic and non-homogeneous clays

Computers and geotechnics, 2019
In this paper, the face stability of plane strain tunnel heading in anisotropic and non-homogeneous clays is investigated by the lower bound (LB) finite element limit analysis (FELA) with second-order cone programming (SOCP).

External Crack in Torsion in an Infinite Non-Homogeneous Medium with a Non-Homogeneous Cylindrical Inclusion

ZAMM, 2001
Summary: We determine stresses in a non-homogeneous infinite medium containing an external crack surrounding a non-homogeneous cylindrical inclusion. The crack occupies the region outside the circle surrounding the cylindrical inclusion. The cylindrical inclusion (fiber) and the infinite medium (matrix) have different shear moduli.
