Tropical Limits of Probability Spaces, Part I: The Intrinsic Kolmogorov-Sinai Distance and the Asymptotic Equipartition Property for Configurations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The entropy of a finite probability space $X$ measures the observable cardinality of large independent products $X^{\otimes n}$ of the probability space.

Invariance under quasi-isometries of subcritical and supercritical behaviour in the Boolean model of percolation

open access: yes, 2015
In this work we study the Poisson Boolean model of percolation in locally compact Polish metric spaces and we prove the invariance of subcritical and supercritical phases under mm-quasi-isometries.

A gradient flow approach to the Boltzmann equation

open access: yes, 2019
We show that the spatially homogeneous Boltzmann equation evolves as the gradient flow of the entropy with respect to a suitable geometry on the space of probability measures which takes the collision process into account.

Boundedness of maximal operators and maximal commutators on non-homogenous spaces

open access: yes, 2014
Let (X,μ) be a non-homogeneous space in the sense that X is a metric space equipped with an upper doubling measure μ. The aim of this paper is to study the endpoint estimate of the maximal operator associated to a Calderón-Zygmund operator T and the Lp ...

Transitive bi-Lipschitz group actions and bi-Lipschitz parameterizations

open access: yes, 2012
We prove that Ahlfors 2-regular quasisymmetric images of the Euclidean plane are bi-Lipschitz images of the plane if and only if they are uniformly bi-Lipschitz homogeneous with respect to a group.

Bergman-type Singular Operators and the Characterization of Carleson Measures for Besov--Sobolev Spaces on the Complex Ball

open access: yes, 2009
The purposes of this paper are two fold. First, we extend the method of non-homogeneous harmonic analysis of Nazarov, Treil and Volberg to handle "Bergman--type" singular integral operators.

Heights and measures on analytic spaces. A survey of recent results, and some remarks

open access: yes, 2010
This paper has two goals. The first is to present the construction, due to the author, of measures on non-archimedean analytic varieties associated to metrized line bundles and some of its applications.
