RelA Inhibits Embryonic Myogenesis by Coordinately Regulating a Novel Distal Enhancer of Myogenin

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Maternal obesity (MO) accounts for more than 40% of pregnancies in the United States, induces inflammation, and impairs embryonic myogenesis, known to program muscle dysfunction in offspring. Inflammation enhances the binding of RelA to a novel distal enhancer located 4 kb upstream of myogenin promoter to inhibit embryonic myogenesis, which is ...

BCG‐Derived Outer Membrane Vesicles Induce TLR2‐Dependent Trained Immunity to Protect Against Polymicrobial Sepsis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
B‐OMVs, nanoscale vesicles derived from BCG, are identified as effective and safe inducers of trained immunity that protect against sepsis. Through TLR2‐mediated metabolic and epigenetic reprogramming of hematopoietic stem cells, B‐OMVs enhance inflammatory response and phagocytic activity.

Efficient Somatic Cell Nuclear Transfer by Overcoming Both Pre‐ and Post‐Implantation Epigenetic Barriers

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Mammalian cloning via SCNT is limited by several epigenetic barriers. Kdm4d/Kdm5b overexpression plus TSA treatment overcomes epigenetic barriers during pre‐implantation development, while tetraploid complementation replaces defective extraembryonic lineages to bypass H3K27me3 imprinting loss to overcome epigenetic barriers in post‐implantation ...

A companion to the preclinical common data elements and case report forms for neuropathology studies in epilepsy research. A report of the TASK3 WG2 Neuropathology Working Group of the ILAE/AES Joint Translational Task Force

open access: yesEpilepsia Open, EarlyView., 2022
Abstract The International League Against Epilepsy/American Epilepsy Society (ILAE/AES) Joint Translational Task Force initiated the TASK3 working group to create common data elements (CDEs) for various aspects of preclinical epilepsy research studies, which could help improve the standardization of experimental designs.

Immunocompatible Elastomer With Enhanced Fibrous Capsule‐Resistance and Elasticity by Water‐Induced Surface Phase Reconfiguration.

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study introduces a strategy for engineering heterogeneous surface and bulk structures within a single material, termed phase‐separation and underwater reconfiguration‐enhanced (PURE) elastomers. These elastomers combine high bulk elasticity with enhanced immunocompatibility at the surface.

Memristive In‐Memory Object Detection with 128 Mb C‐Doped Ge2Sb2Te5 PCM Chip

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A memristive in‐memory object detection system is presented for edge computing based on a 128 Mb phase change memory chip (40 nm, 99.99999 % yield) enabling in‐memory vector‐matrix multiplication and max computation. A novel mixed‐precision weight mapping reduces analog‐to‐digital‐converter energy by 22.3×.

Bioprinted Organoids: An Innovative Engine in Biomedicine

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Bioprinted organoids refer to either the printing of stem cells into tissue shape and subsequent differentiate into organoids, or assembling induced organoids as bioinks to replicate native organ. It enables the creation of miniaturized organs with complex architectures and physiological functions, potentially enhancing reproducibility, throughput, and

Core promoter short tandem repeats as evolutionary switch codes for primate speciation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Alteration in gene expression levels underlies many of the phenotypic differences across species. Because of their highly mutable nature, proximity to the +1 transcription start site (TSS), and the emerging evidence of functional impact on gene ...
