Interventional programmes to improve cognition during healthy and pathological ageing: Cortical modulations and evidence for brain plasticity [PDF]
Available online 06 March 2018A growing body of evidence suggests that healthy elderly individuals and patients with Alzheimer’s disease retain an important potential for neuroplasticity.

Neurophysiological investigations of drug resistant epilepsy patients treated with vagus nerve stimulation to differentiate responders from non-responders [PDF]
Background and purpose In patients treated with vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) for drug resistant epilepsy (DRE), up to a third of patients will eventually not respond to the therapy.

Network Localization of Fatigue in Multiple Sclerosis
ABSTRACT Background Fatigue is among the most common symptoms and one of the main factors determining the quality of life in multiple sclerosis (MS). However, the neurobiological mechanisms underlying fatigue are not fully understood. Here we studied lesion locations and their connections in individuals with MS, aiming to identify brain networks ...

Noninvasive vagus nerve stimulation alters neural response and physiological autonomic tone to noxious thermal challenge. [PDF]
The mechanisms by which noninvasive vagal nerve stimulation (nVNS) affect central and peripheral neural circuits that subserve pain and autonomic physiology are not clear, and thus remain an area of intense investigation.

The Case of a 28‐Year‐Old Woman With Medically Refractory Focal Epilepsy
ABSTRACT We present the case of a 28‐year‐old right‐handed woman with medically refractory focal epilepsy. Her seizure semiology and electroencephalography (EEG) indicated a seizure onset zone in the right central‐parietal area. However, both MRI and PET scans were unremarkable, showing no focal lesions or areas of altered metabolism.

Moral enhancement: do means matter morally? [PDF]
One of the reasons why moral enhancement may be controversial, is because the advantages of moral enhancement may fall upon society rather than on those who are enhanced.

Non invasive brain stimulation to enhance post-stroke recovery
Brain plasticity after stroke remains poorly understood. Patients may improve spontaneously within the first 3 months and then more slowly in the coming year.
