Non-isothermal crystallization and thermal degradation kinetics of MXene/linear low-density polyethylene nanocomposites [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
A novel two-dimensional material MXene was used to synthesize nanocomposites with linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE). The influence of MXene on crystallization and thermal degradation kinetics of LLDPE was investigated.

Solid–liquid equilibria in the LiOH–ethanol–water system: Solubility measurements and thermodynamic modeling

open access: yesAIChE Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract The demand for LiOH is driven by the growth of the electric vehicle industry. Evaporative crystallization of LiOH·H2O is energy intensive, whereas ethanol‐based antisolvent crystallization has emerged as a more sustainable alternative. From a process design perspective, the crystallization yield depends on the ethanol dosage, and thermodynamic

Cooperative Redox Catalysis of N2O Decomposition by Short‐Range RhOx and CeOx Anchored to Co3O4

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, EarlyView.
A short‐range Rh–O–Co–O–Ce interfacial moiety drives low‐temperature N2O decomposition via a cooperative redox cycle. Operando modulated‐excitation XAS with phase‐sensitive detection (ME‐XAS + PSD) tracks rapid, reversible Rh oxidation coupled to Co reduction.

Study on the crystallization kinetics of Ni-Mn-Sn-Fe alloy thin films

open access: yesMaterials Research Express
This study examines the crystallization kinetics of Ni _50−x Mn _39 Sn _11 Fe _x (x = 0, 0.5, 2, 4 at.%) amorphous thin films prepared by DC magnetron sputtering. SEM and XRD confirm their amorphous structure.

Pracaxi Oil as a Potential Inhibitor of Fat Bloom

open access: yesJournal of the American Oil Chemists' Society, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Fat bloom is one of the major technological challenges faced by the chocolate industry, caused by the polymorphic transition from β2(V) to β1(VI) crystals in cocoa butter (CB). One strategy to slow down this polymorphic transition is the addition of lipids rich in very long chain fatty acids (VLCFA), such as behenic acid.

Influence of Fat Oil Binding Capacity on Shelf‐Life and Consumer Acceptance of a Chocolate‐Based Model System

open access: yesJournal of the American Oil Chemists' Society, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In chocolate‐coated products, oil migration can lead to chocolate softening and discoloration, filling hardening, and reduced consumer acceptance. This study examined three fats (soy‐, palm‐, and palm‐kernel (PK) based), crystallized under different conditions (cooling rate and high intensity ultrasound (HIU)) with differing oil binding ...
