Bayesian Models for Non‐linear Autoregressions
Journal of Time Series Analysis, 1997We discuss classes of Bayesian mixture models for nonlinear autoregressive times series, based on developments in semiparametric Bayesian density estimation in recent years. The development involves formal classes of multivariate discrete mixture distributions, providing flexibility in modeling arbitrary nonlinearities in time series structure and a ...

In linear regression the mean surface is a plane in sample space; in non-linear regression it may be an arbitrary curved surface but in all other respects the models are the same. Fortunately the mean surface in most non-linear regression models met in practice will be approximately planar in the region of highest likelihood, allowing some good ...

Characterisation and modelling of non-linear loudspeakers
2014 14th International Workshop on Acoustic Signal Enhancement (IWAENC), 2014Approaches to non-linear acoustic echo cancellation for mobile devices all require a reliable, non-linear model of the loudspeaker. This paper investigates a recent approach to nonlinear system identification. The loudspeaker is characterised using specially-crafted test signals, in this case simple exponential sine-sweep inputs, which facilitate the ...

Comparison of non-linear MESFET models
9th International Conference on Electronics, Circuits and Systems, 2003The objective of this paper is to investigate the non-linear performance of some of the most widely used GaAs MESFET models. DC, AC and intermodulation (IMD) measurements were carried out on 300 /spl mu/m devices, and equivalent circuit parameters were extracted and optimized. Model predictions of IMD were investigated through several figures of merit:

ACE: A non-linear regression model
Chemometrics and Intelligent Laboratory Systems, 1988Abstract Frank, I.E. and Lanteri, S., 1988. ACE: a non-linear regressional model. Chemometrics and Intelligent Laboratory Systems , 3: 301–313. A non-linear regression model is discussed and applied to various structure—activity relationship problems.

A non-linear circuit model of hysteresis
IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 1999A nonlinear circuit model of hysteretic phenomena is presented. The model provides a close prediction of static hysteresis and exhibits realistic dynamic features. The parameters of the circuit model can be identified by a proper identification procedure, based on a representation theorem. Basic features are addressed and discussed.

(Non) linear regression modeling [PDF]
We will study causal relationships of a known form between random variables. Given a model, we distinguish one or more dependent (endogenous) variables Y = (Y1,…,Yl), l ∈ N, which are explained by a model, and independent (exogenous, explanatory) variables X = (X1,…,Xp),p ∈ N, which explain or predict the dependent variables by means of the model. Such

Abstract The experimental designs derived in the previous chapters for linear models do not depend on the values of the parameters β of the linear model. On the other hand, an important feature of designs for non-linear models is that they do depend on the values of the parameters.

Validation of a non‐linear model of health
Journal of Evaluation in Clinical Practice, 2014AbstractPurposeThe purpose of this study was to evaluate the veracity of a theoretically derived model of health that describes a non‐linear trajectory of health from birth to death with available population data sets.MethodsThe distribution of mortality by age is directly related to health at that age, thus health approximates 1/mortality. The inverse
