Non-linear model following

Automatica, 1987
The paper deals with the problem to design a nonlinear time-varying state feedback law for a nonlinear time-varying plant such that the output dynamics match a given model. Existence conditions of such a controller are studied using the circle stability criterion and Lyapunov theory.

A non-linear model for time

Astrophysics and Space Science, 1996
The article proposes an infinite partially ordered set \(I\) by axioms on its elements, called instants. \(I\) contains a linear continuum. The set \(I\) is called a model for time. The measurement in \(I\) is imposed by axioms on instants. The axioms of \(I\) are not based on the conception of ``events'', which is more fundamental than those of ...

A Non Linear Observer for a Fishery Model

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 2008
The aim of this paper is to apply some tools of observability theory to an age-structured model of a harvested fish population in order to estimate the stock state. We construct an observer that uses the data of caught fish and gives a dynamical estimation of the number of fish by stage.

A Non-Linear Model of Insulin Kinetics

1991
A five compartment model including receptor-mediated insulin degradation is proposed to simulate insulin processing during hyperinsulinaemic euglycaemic clamps. Several physiological constraints were employed to limit the number of parameters which remained to be resolved from the experimental data.

Non-linear Modeling on a Pocket Calculator

2012
Non-linear relationships in clinical research are often linear after logarithmic transformations. Odds ratios, log likelihood ratios, Markov models and many regression models are models that make use of it. An example with real data is given. We have to add that logarithmic transformation is not always successful, and that alternative methods are ...

OPTIMAL CONTROL OF STOCHASTIC NON-LINEAR MODELS

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1989
The use of large macroeconometric models has become central to the policy work of many national and international agencies. The models are not only complex in terms of their size but also invariably non-linear. Using such a model in policy formulation inevitably leads towards specifying a set of objectives and trying to meet these objectives as closely

A model for non-linear processing in cat's retina

Biological Cybernetics, 1980
The model is based on the concept that non-linear lateral interaction at the inner plexiform layer accounts for most of the specialization and marked non-linearities in cat's retinal ganglion cell responses. The inputs to the lateral interaction processes are a spatio-temporal signal and its retarded, as suggested by the behaviour of simple ganglion ...

Non-linear Bayesian Image Modelling

2000
In recent years several techniques have been proposed for modelling the low-dimensional manifolds, or 'subspaces', of natural images. Examples include principal component analysis (as used for instance in 'eigen-faces'), independent component analysis, and auto-encoder neural networks.
