Characterization of non-metallic inclusions in corrosion -resistance nickel - based EP718 and 718 alloys by using electrolytic extraction method [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2019
It is known that non-metallic inclusions (NMI) that are formed during steel production and heat treatment can significantly affect the properties of final steel products.

Fatigue of Steel Plates with Inclusions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Manufactured by the end of the 80s in the last century steel structures were made of steel which contain signi cant amounts of non-metallic inclusions. As a result of many years of intensive use of the structures made of steel, structural discontinuity

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Study on Control Technology of Non-metallic Inclusions in 25MnBM Steel for Track Plate

open access: yesTeshugang, 2020
The 25MnBM track plate steel is produced by 50 ton EAF short process. The control technology of TiN inclusions and the effect of RE on non-metallic inclusions in 25MnBM of steel are studied.

Quantitative characterization of mns inclusions in S355 steel regarding to solidification rate [PDF]

open access: yesHemijska Industrija, 2013
A practice of special interest for metallurgical steelmaking is the relationship between redistribution of solute elements and dendrite microsegregation that occurs during solidification.

Negative effective permeability and left-handed materials at optical frequencies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We present here the design of nano-inclusions made of properly arranged collections of plasmonic metallic nano-particles that may exhibit a resonant magnetic dipole collective response in the visible domain.

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Assessment and Improvement of Melt Quality of Recycled Secondary A357 Alloy by Application of the High Shear Melt Conditioning (HSMC) Technology

open access: yesCrystals
In addition to impurities in recycled aluminum alloys, non-metallic inclusions are a significant factor that deteriorates the material’s castability and final mechanical properties.

Modeling Lamellar Cracks. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
In this work, studies of models simulating lamellar cracks were conducted. These cracks are formed in rolled sheets with non-metallic inclusions. Studies of lamellar cracks began in the 1960s, but there is still no satisfactory theory explaining their ...

Effective medium approximation and the complex optical properties of the inhomogeneous superconductor K_{0.8}Fe_{2-y}Se_2

open access: yes, 2012
The in-plane optical properties of the inhomogeneous iron-chalcogenide superconductor K_{0.8}Fe_{2-y}Se_2 with a critical temperature Tc = 31 K have been modeled in the normal state using the Bruggeman effective medium approximation for metallic ...
