Optimised Internet of Thing framework based hybrid meta‐heuristic algorithms for E‐healthcare monitoring

open access: yesIET Networks, EarlyView., 2022
Abstract Everything can be connected in the Internet of Things (IoTs) technology that enables efficient communication between connected objects. IoTs industry‐based meta‐heuristic and mining algorithms, which are considered an important field of Artificial Intelligence will be used to construct a healthcare application in this study for lowering costs,

Steady flow of power-law fluids in a 1:3 planar sudden expansion

open access: yes, 2013
The laminar flow of inelastic non-Newtonian fluids, obeying the power-law model, through a planar sudden expansion with a 1:3 expansion ratio was investigated numerically using a finite volume method. A broad range of power-law indices in the range 0.2 n

Numerical investigation on the influence of mesoscopic deformation on contact area and hydraulic aperture to fracture seepage

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
Fluid flow through a single fracture is commonly described by the cubic law. However, deviations from this model are expected because natural fracture surfaces are rough and in contact with each other in discrete regions. In this study, the interactions between fracture closure, contact area, and hydraulic characterization of mesoscopic‐scale rough ...

Effect of viscous dissipation in heating/cooling of grade three fluid in a pipe subjected to uniform surface temperature

open access: yesInternational Journal of Thermofluids
Forced convection in Newtonian and non-Newtonian fluids flowing through pipes maintained at uniform heat flux or uniform wall temperature are important for understanding heat transfer characteristics in design and thermal management of heat exchangers ...

Particle manipulations in non-Newtonian microfluidics: A review

open access: yes, 2017
Microfluidic devices have been widely used since 1990s for diverse manipulations of particles (a general term of beads, cells, vesicles, drops, etc.) in a variety of applications. Compared to the active manipulation via an externally imposed force field,

The impact of forced closure on proppant distribution of hydraulic fracturing in shale formations

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
Research findings demonstrate that implementing forced closure within shale formations can remarkably mitigate proppant settlement, concurrently increasing the effective propped surface area from 29.74% to 38.68%. Abstract Forced closure is widely used in conventional oil and gas reservoirs to promote uniform proppant placement.

Numerical simulation study on the evolution of the temperature field and frozen wall in fractured rock mass

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
The evolution of the temperature field and frozen wall under different fracture conditions was examined by an artificial ground freezing‐based thermal‐hydraulic coupled model. It was observed that fracture inclination affects the interaction extent of freezing pipes and fracture, while phase transition extent is the dominant factor for heat transfer in

Charting Water‐in‐Natural‐Salt (WiNS) Electrolytes. Part I: Effect of Anion's Alkyl Tail Length

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
At 20 m, potassium carboxylates from formate to butyrate reveal anion tail‐controlled nanostructure. SAXS shows a pre‐peak shifting to lower q with chain length. Molecular dynamics reproduces S(q) and attributes it to concentration fluctuations forming bicontinuous segregation.

BEHAVIOR OF NEWTONIAN AND NON-NEWTONIAN FLUIDS IN PUMPING AND TRANSPORT PROCESSES

open access: yesStudia Universitatis Babes-Bolyai Chemia
The present study investigates the behavior of Newtonian and non-Newtonian fluids in pumping and transport processes, using a laboratory facility. The rheological behavior of the selected fluids were determined by a rotational viscometer with concentric
