Power and Channel Allocation for Non-orthogonal Multiple Access in 5G Systems: Tractability and Computation

open access: yes, 2016
Network capacity calls for significant increase for 5G cellular systems. A promising multi-user access scheme, non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) with successive interference cancellation (SIC), is currently under consideration.

A General MIMO Framework for NOMA Downlink and Uplink Transmission Based on Signal Alignment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The application of multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) techniques to non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) systems is important to enhance the performance gains of NOMA. In this paper, a novel MIMO-NOMA framework for downlink and uplink transmission is

Framework for Task Offloading in O‐RAN Architecture for Heterogeneous Computing Applications

open access: yesTransactions on Emerging Telecommunications Technologies, Volume 37, Issue 2, February 2026.
This work proposes a task offloading framework in ORAN architecture, optimizing computational assignment across user devices, edge cloud, and regional cloud. By efficiently selecting processing nodes and allocating computational and radio resources, it minimizes delay while accommodating diverse latency requirements for gold, silver, and bronze‐tier ...

Meta Distribution of Downlink Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access (NOMA) in Poisson Networks [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Wireless Communications Letters, 2018
We study the meta distribution (MD) of the coverage probability (CP) in downlink non-orthogonal-multiple-access (NOMA) networks. Two schemes are assessed based on the location of the NOMA users: 1) anywhere in the network and 2) cell-center users only ...

Contribution of non‐orthogonal multiple access signalling to practical multibeam satellite deployments

open access: yesInternational Journal of Satellite Communications and Networking, Volume 44, Issue 1, Page 73-88, January/February 2026.
The potential gains of NOMA were evaluated in a satellite system with heterogeneous receivers, after considering the use of specific DVB‐S2X MODCODs, along with the impact of non‐linearities. It was concluded that a judicious power allocation in NOMA, jointly optimized with the IBO of the PAs, can yield significant sum‐rate gains.

Performance Analysis of NOMA-based Cooperative Relaying in {\alpha} - {\mu} Fading Channels

open access: yes, 2019
Non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) is widely recognized as a potential multiple access technology for efficient radio spectrum utilization in the fifth-generation (5G) wireless communications standard.

Time and phase alignment of distributed gateways: Theoretical analysis and experimental demonstration

open access: yesInternational Journal of Satellite Communications and Networking, Volume 44, Issue 1, Page 47-59, January/February 2026.
The performance limitation in multiple‐input multiple‐output (MIMO) feeder links due to time and phase misalignment of the ground stations is investigated. Time and phase distribution over optical fiber is considered as an approach to achieve the synchronization requirements.

Is NOMA Efficient in Multi-Antenna Networks? A Critical Look at Next Generation Multiple Access Techniques

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of the Communications Society, 2021
In the past few years, a large body of literature has been created on downlink Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access (NOMA), employing superposition coding and Successive Interference Cancellation (SIC), in multi-antenna wireless networks.

Performance Analysis of Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access (NOMA) Enabled Cloud Radio Access Networks

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, 2022
In this paper, the performance analysis of non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) in a cloud radio access networks (C-RAN) is carried out. The problem of jointly optimizing user association, muting and power-bandwidth allocation is formulated for NOMA-enabled C-RANs.
