Surface heat transfer and thermodynamic irreversibility in oscillatory Casson fluid Couette–Poiseuille flow

open access: yesResults in Surfaces and Interfaces
This study investigates the oscillatory Couette–Poiseuille transport of a Casson fluid between two infinite parallel plates considering thermal radiation, viscous dissipation, and periodic pressure forcing. The lower plate undergoes harmonic oscillation,

Elastic–Plastic Modeling and Experimental Characterization of Granular Jamming Actuators

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Granular jamming enables rapid switching between soft and rigid mechanical states. Here, a reduced‐order elastic‐perfectly‐plastic beam framework captures pressure‐dependent loading, unloading, residual deformation, and hysteresis in jammed beams, while matching three‐point bending experiments across materials and geometries. The framework links design

Improvement of weighted essentially non-oscillatory schemes near discontinuities

open access: yes, 2014
In this article, we analyze the fifth-order weighted essentially non-oscillatory (WENO-5) scheme and show that, at a transition point from smooth region to a discontinuity point or vice versa, the accuracy order of WENO-5 is decreased to third order.

Influence of Particle Shape and Size in Copper‐Based Low‐Temperature Metallization Paste for Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Particle morphology controls the balance between printability and electrical connectivity in low‐temperature AgCu/Ag metallization pastes. Flake‐shaped AgCu particles form extended low‐resistance contacts, whereas spherical particles favor processability at high metal loading. Fine Ag particles further tune void filling and conductive‐network formation

Research on multi-source sparse optimization method and its application on gearbox compound fault detection

open access: yesEngineering Science and Technology, an International Journal
In general, gearbox is prone to occur compound fault frequently because of its harsh working environment, its fault vibration signal often contains polymorphic-oscillatory components and is corrupted by heavy background noise, which brings great ...

Decay of non-oscillatory solutions for a system of neutral differential equations

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2013
Summary: In this article we study non-oscillatory solutions for a system of neutral functional differential equations. We give sufficient conditions for all non-oscillatory solutions to tend to zero as t approaches infinity. Our results are illustrated with an example.

Printed Integrated Logic Circuits Based on Chitosan‐Gated Organic Transistors for Future Edible Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Edible electronics needs integrated logic circuits for computation and control. This work presents a potentially edible printed chitosan‐gated transistor with a design optimized for integration in circuits. Its implementation in integrated logic gates and circuits operating at low voltage (0.7 V) is demonstrated, as well as the compatibility with an ...

Development of a New Class of High order Implicit Non-Oscillatory Schemes for Conservation Laws [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Hyperbolic conservation laws allow for discontinuities to develop in the solution. In order to obtain non-oscillatory solutions near discontinuities and high gradient regions, numerical schemes have to satisfy conditions additional to linear stability ...

On the implementation of adaptive multiresolution spectral WENO scheme for the multiclass Lighthill-Whitham-Richards traffic model

open access: yesRevista Facultad de Ingeniería Universidad de Antioquia, 2014
In this paper, the implementation of a spectral or characteristic-based fifth order  WENO  (Weighted  Essentially  Non-Oscillatory)  scheme  is  described  in  detail  along  with  an  adaptive  multiresolution  technique  for  efficiently computing ...
