Gravity‐Dependent Modulation of Downbeat Nystagmus: Insights From Velocity‐Storage Dysfunction
ABSTRACT Objective Downbeat nystagmus varies with head position, a phenomenon termed gravity‐dependent modulation. We aimed to clarify its mechanism using a velocity‐storage model. Methods In 10 patients with downbeat nystagmus due to cerebellar disorders, we recorded eye movements at different pitch‐ and roll‐axis head positions.

Boundary‐Dependent Sleep–Wake Dysregulation in Idiopathic Hypersomnia
ABSTRACT Objective Idiopathic hypersomnia (IH) presents with excessive daytime sleepiness (EDS) despite apparently preserved nocturnal sleep, challenging traditional models of hypersomnolence based on sleep loss or fragmentation. We aimed to test the hypothesis that EDS in IH reflects excessive stabilization of the sleep state, consistent with ...

Non-oscillatory spectral Fourier methods for shock wave calculations [PDF]
A non-oscillatory spectral Fourier method is presented for the solution of hyperbolic partial differential equations. The method is based on adding a nonsmooth function to the trigonometric polynomials which are the usual basis functions for the Fourier ...

A new smoothness indicator for improving the weighted essentially non-oscillatory scheme
In this work, a new smoothness indicator that measures the local smoothness of a function in a stencil is introduced. The new local smoothness indicator is defined based on the Lagrangian interpolation polynomial and has a more succinct form compared ...

Qualitative Properties to Type of Second Order Emden-Fowler Dynamic Equation
This study aimed to secure oscillation properties with asymptotic natures to solutions of Emden-Fowler dynamic equations on a time scale. The primary objectives were to establish new sufficient criteria that guarantee either the oscillatory of solutions

ABSTRACT Background Stereoelectroencephalography‐guided radiofrequency thermocoagulation (SEEG‐RFTC) is a minimally invasive therapy for drug‐resistant focal epilepsy. However, the relationship between specific seizure‐onset patterns (SOPs), particularly low‐voltage fast activity (LVFA), and postoperative scalp EEG normalization remains inadequately ...

Multi-step Weighted Essentially Non-oscillatory Scheme
A fifth-order accurate multi-step weighted essentially non-oscillatory (WENO) scheme is constructed in this paper. Different from the traditional WENO schemes, which are designed to have ( 2 r 1 )th order accuracy in the smooth regions directly from r ...

ABSTRACT Objective Sleep disturbances have been implicated as a risk factor for developing Alzheimer's disease (AD), but evidence linking plasma AD biomarkers to sleep in cognitively unimpaired individuals remains limited. The present study examined associations between evening, morning, and overnight changes in plasma AD biomarkers and measures of ...

An enhanced LPV-model based identification approach of oscillatory failure cases [PDF]
The reliable early detection of oscillatory failure cases (OFC) for modern fly-by-wire controlled civil aircraft is an important aspect in optimizing the structural design objectives for reducing the environmental footprint of the aircraft. We propose a
