Synthesis and Optical Properties of Diboron Complexes of 1,4‐Anthraquinone Derivatives

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
1,4‐Diboron complexes exhibit near‐infrared fluorescence, in contrast to non‐emissive 1,5‐diboron analogues. Fluorescence quantum yields decrease with increasing electron‐donating substituents, attributed to enhanced nonradiative decay via intramolecular PeT.

Single‐Step Synthesis of Dithieno[3,2‐b:2′,3′‐e]Pyridines and Their Acid‐Dependent Optical and Photosensitising Properties

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
The synthesis of dithieno[3,2‐b:2′,3′‐e]pyridines (DTPs) is herein reported, and their optical properties are studied both experimentally and computationally. Protonation or methylation of the nitrogen atom induced bathochromic shifts in their absorption and emission spectra.

Nickel‐Catalyzed Reductive Cross‐Coupling of Xanthate Esters With Aryl and Alkenyl Iodides

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
A nickel‐catalyzed reductive cross‐coupling of xanthate esters and aryl/alkenyl iodides is reported without the need for separate activators for the xanthate esters. The reaction utilizes a relatively low catalyst loading. Diarylmethanes with a good functional group variety can thus be synthesized indirectly from the corresponding benzylic alcohols ...

Fully Reversible Regulation of 8‐17 DNAzyme Activity Using Nucleoside‐Based Diarylethenes

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
The site‐specific incorporation of nucleosidic diarylethenes into the 8–17 deoxyribozyme (DNAzyme) identified position 2.1 as optimal. Compound dU‐PhtBu enabled efficient light‐dependent control of catalytic activity, while maintaining thermal stability and reversibility.

Oxidative Generation and Reactivity of the Cyclopropyl Radical From a Martin Silicate

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
A photoredox strategy employing Martin silicates enables the oxidative generation and controlled capture of cyclopropyl radicals, including the naked one, long considered challenging intermediates. The method affords functionalized cyclopropanes through both Giese‐type additions and dual nickel/photoredox C(sp3)−C(sp2) cross‐couplings.

Effect of different flue gas recirculation rates on low‐NOx combustion characteristics: A numerical simulation based on the combustion process of a gas boiler

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Abstract NOx emissions from gas boilers severely impact the environment, and flue gas recirculation (FGR) technology can effectively reduce such emissions, yet the effects of different FGR rates on combustion performance and NOx formation remain unclear. This study thus used numerical simulation (via ANSYS Fluent, adopting the realizable k‐ε turbulence

Polyoxometalates in Photocatalytic CO2 Reduction: Multielectron Redox Regulation Across Molecular and Hybrid Architectures

open access: yesEcoEnergy, EarlyView.
This review focuses on multielectron redox regulation across molecular and hybrid architectures for photocatalytic CO2 reduction, covering intrinsic POM photocatalysts, photosensitizer‐assisted assemblies, POM–metal–organic complexes, and POM‐integrated semiconductors and MOF/COF heterostructures to link structural motifs with charge transport, product
