Intrinsically Mitochondria‐Targeting Nanozyme via Coordination‐Assembly of Natural Quercetin for Cascade Antioxidant Therapy of Cerebral Ischemia‐Reperfusion Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study uncovers that quercetin naturally targets mitochondria. By coordinating quercetin with Fe3+, we engineer an ultrasmall cascade nanozyme (MCN) with superoxide dismutase‐catalase activities. MCN crosses the damaged blood–brain barrier, scavenges mitochondrial ROS, prevents mitochondrial DNA leakage, and blocks the cGAS‐STING pathway, thereby ...

Valency‐Controlled Multiphotochromism: Gated Switching and Photoswitchable Lewis Superacidity at Silicon

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Multiphotochromic switching is controlled by silicon valency in a diarylethene‐based molecular architecture. Lewis base coordination gates electronic communication between the photochromic units, thereby enabling selective access to distinct switching states.

Individual and interactive effects of temperature, carbon dioxide and abscisic acid on mung bean (Vigna radiata) plants

open access: yesJournal of Plant Interactions, 2017
We studied the effects of temperature, carbon dioxide and abscisic acid on mung bean (Vigna radiata). Plants were grown under 26/22°C or 32/28°C (16 h light/8 h dark) at 400 or 700 μmol mol−1 CO2 and received ABA application of 0 or 100 μl (10 μg) every ...

AI‐Assisted Digital Single‐Molecule Activity Tracker for Decoupling Intrinsic Heterogeneity from Photo‐Oxidative Damage in High‐Photon‐Flux Enzymology

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Employing a digital single‐molecule activity tracker (dSMAT), this research demonstrates that high‐photon‐flux irradiation drives progressive oxidative scarring in polymerases. Unlike simple thermal denaturation, real‐time kinetic tracking dynamically visualizes enzymes degrading into multiple impaired subpopulations.

Synergistic Lewis Acid Photocatalysis Over Cluster‐Defect‐Engineered UiO‐66 for Efficient Liquid Biomass Upgrading

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A cluster‐defect engineering strategy is presented for the rational design of Zn‐incorporated UiO‐66 photocatalysts. Selective acid etching mediates hierarchical porosity and abundant Lewis acid sites, tailoring the electronic structure and enhancing light harvesting.

Advancing Energy Materials by In Situ Atomic Scale Methods

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, Volume 15, Issue 11, March 18, 2025.
Progress in in situ atomic scale methods leads to an improved understanding of new and advanced energy materials, where a local understanding of complex, inhomogeneous systems or interfaces down to the atomic scale and quantum level is required. Topics from photovoltaics, dissipation losses, phase transitions, and chemical energy conversion are ...

Direct δ‐Lactone Synthesis From Free Alcohols via Photoinduced δ‐C(sp3)–H Carbonylation in Flow

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Herein, we have developed a photo‐flow platform for the δ‐C(sp3)─H carbonylative lactonization of free alcohols with carbon monoxide. The transformation integrates alkoxyl radical generation, selective 1,5‐HAT, CO incorporation, and radical–polar crossover to enable direct access to δ‐lactones from simple alcohol precursors.

Chromosome doubling can increase heat tolerance in Lonicera japonica as indicated by chlorophyll fluorescence imaging

open access: yesBiologia Plantarum, 2011
Imaging fluorometry was applied to investigate the tolerance of Japanese honeysuckle (Lonicera japonica Thunb.) of different ploidy levels to heat stress. Seedlings of L. japonica, the diploid cv. Damaohua and the tetraploid cv.

Supramolecular Modulation of Photoinduced Charge Transfer: Tuning Between Tunneling and Incoherent Hopping

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Molecular recognition guest binding can comprehensively modulate photoinduced charge‐transfer dynamics in the cyclophane host, including charge separation and recombination, via coherent superexchange and incoherent hopping. Unlike covalent donor–bridge–acceptor systems, this supramolecular approach avoids tedious syntheses and offers precise tuning of
