Crack trajectories under mixed mode and non-proportional loading
International Journal of Fracture, 1996A novel testing procedure for mixed mode crack propagation is presented; it offers the possibility of non-proportional loading and of changing the crack trajectory during testing, features which allow non-traditional mixed mode tests which, in turn, may help in discriminating mixed mode fracture criteria. Detailed experimental stable crack trajectories

Microplane modeling of sand behavior under non-proportional loading
Computers and Geotechnics, 2006Abstract Within a microplane theory framework, a model has been developed to simulate the response of sandy soils subjected to non-proportional loading, which occurs in geotechnical engineering. The microplane framework assumes that macroscopic deformations originate with the deformations in the vicinity of planes between particles.

The non-proportional loading of mild steel
Materials Research ProceedingsAbstract. The effect of proportional loading on formability has been extensively studied. However, non-proportional loading occurs frequently in a stamping operation and its impact on formability has been studied less. Non-proportional loading occurs in two areas of stamping: continuously during the draw stage of a complex geometry and discontinuously ...

Modeling of stable cyclic stress‐strain responses under non‐proportional loading
ZAMM - Journal of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics / Zeitschrift für Angewandte Mathematik und Mechanik, 2017AbstractThis paper proposes a simple two‐surface plasticity model for strain controlled conditions which includes only five material constants to describe the stable stress‐strain relationship under extensive non‐proportional loadings. In this model, the Mróz kinematic hardening rule is adopted to describe the instantaneous translation of the yield ...

Microcrack propagation under non-proportional multiaxial alternating loading
2003Abstract Non-proportional multiaxial fatigue tests of tubular specimens were performed under purely alternating strain-controlled loading. Both the load paths and the phase shifts were varied. With increasing phase shift at the same equivalent load, the lifetime was found to increase.

A multiaxial cyclic plasticity model for non-proportional loading cases
International Journal of Plasticity, 1998From the conclusions: We propose a two-surface plasticity model for non-proportional loading using a nonlinear hardening rule with evanescent memory evolution. The additional term incorporated in the Armstrong-Frederick kinematic hardening rule for cyclic loading is modified to account for continuous non-proportional stress loading paths.

Dynamic Plastic Deformation for Non-Proportional Loading Paths
1982Improved understanding of the plastic response of metals subjected to loading histories which include marked changes in direction of the stress trajectories (in a hyperspace of components of the stress tensor) is of fundamental importance in plasticity theory and its applications.

Choice of Objective Rate for Non-Proportional Loading Applications
Computer Technology and Applications, 2004Traditionally, the validation of three dimensional constitutive formulations (i.e. theories of plasticity) has been carried out using biaxial testing. The most widely used method for biaxial testing is the combined tension-torsion loading of thin-walled cylindrical specimens. Unfortunately, the results obtained in the past, using the incremental theory
