Predicting extreme defects in additive manufacturing remains a key challenge limiting its structural reliability. This study proposes a statistical framework that integrates Extreme Value Theory with advanced process indicators to explore defect–process relationships and improve the estimation of critical defect sizes. The approach provides a basis for

Existence of nonnegative solutions to positone-type problems in R^N with indefinite weights
We study the existence of a nonnegative solution to the following problem in ${mathbb{R}^N}$, $N geq 3$, in both the radial as well as in the non-radial case with an indefinite weight function $a(x)$: $$displaylines{ -Delta u=lambda a(x)f(u) cr u(x)

A simplified thermoplastic pultrusion model is developed to predict thermal fields in glass fiber/polyethylene terephthalate (GF/PET) composites with reduced computational cost. By combining effective material homogenization, validation against literature data, and Gaussian‐process‐based optimization, the study reveals how heating limits, pulling speed,

Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Blow up of solutions of semilinear heat equations in non radial domains of $\mathbb{R}^2$
We consider the semilinear heat equation \begin{equation}\label{problemAbstract}\left\{\begin{array}{ll}v_t-Δv= |v|^{p-1}v & \mbox{in}Ω\times (0,T)\\ v=0 & \mbox{on}\partial Ω\times (0,T)\\ v(0)=v_0 & \mbox{in}Ω\end{array}\right.\tag{$\mathcal P_p$} \end{equation} where $p>1$, $Ω$ is a smooth bounded domain of $\mathbb R^2$, $T\in (0 ...

A novel workflow for investigating hydride vapor phase epitaxy for GaN bulk crystal growth is proposed. It combines Design of experiments (DoE) with physical simulations of mass transport and crystal growth kinetics, serving as an intermediate step between DoE and experiments.

Twisting asymptotically-flat spacetimes
We extend the Bondi formalism to describe asymptotically-flat spacetimes where the outgoing null geodesic congruence is not hypersurface-orthogonal, i.e. has a non-vanishing twist. In the Newman–Penrose formulation, the twist $\text{Im}(\rho)$ is sourced

Symmetry‐Guided Multifunctional Acoustic System Based on Mechanically Actuated Sonic Crystals
This study presents the design, simulation, and experimental validation of amultifunctional acoustic metamaterial based on rotationally engineered sonic crystals.By tuning cylinder orientations, controllable band gaps and six distinct functionalities—including switching, topological insulation, beam splitting, and logic operations—areachieved ...

Optimal Power Flow for radial and mesh grids using semidefinite programming
This paper presents a convex formulation for optimal power flow (OPF) in both radial and meshed grids. A semidefinite programming (SDP) approximation transforms the quadratic non-convex model into a relaxed convex quadratic model, which can be more ...

Non-radially symmetric solutions of nonlinear Schrödinger equation coupled with Maxwell equations
Abstract In this paper we prove the existence of standing wave solutions of nonlinear Schrödinger equation coupled with Maxwell equations which are non-radially symmetric.
