High‐Resolution Corrosion Fingerprinting of Alloy Libraries via Microdroplet Spectroelectrochemistry

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Ionic‐liquid microdroplet spectroelectrochemistry enables stable, localized electrochemical measurements over extended timescales. By coupling impedance spectroscopy, wetting analysis, finite‐element simulations, and operando Raman spectroscopy, it disentangles geometrical and electrochemical effects, opening new opportunities for rapid corrosion ...

Radiating effect of viscous dissipation of solar radiative heat flux over a rough rotating disk

open access: yesResults in Surfaces and Interfaces
The flow and thermal performance of non-Newtonian fluid past under high shear and radiative heating over the rotating surface is essential in lubrication technology, energy systems, and thermal management devices, where the slip effects, surface ...

Integration of OpenCV‐Based Microscopic Adhesive Volume Measurement Into a Pyiron Workflow for Automated Data Analysis

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Residual adhesive after electrode loading in adhesive‐assisted resistance spot welding is quantified through a traceable experimental‐to‐digital workflow. Chromatic confocal topography provides calibrated surface‐height data, while OpenCV detects the electrode imprint and integrates adhesive height into comparable volume metrics.

The Influence of Field‐Assisted Sintering Technology (FAST) Temperature and Cooling Rate on the Microstructural Evolution in Gamma‐Titanium Aluminide Alloy GE4822

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Controlling the Field Assisted Sintering Technology (FAST) parameters, dwell temperature and cooling rate, significantly influences the microstructural evolution in titanium aluminide GE4822. Significant γ‐lamellar colonies develop only upon cooling through the α‐transus.

Non-Singular Generalized RBF Solution and Weaker Singularity MFS: Laplace Equation and Anisotropic Laplace Equation

open access: yesMathematics
This paper introduces a singular distance function rs in terms of a symmetric non-negative metric tensor S. If S satisfies a quadratic matrix equation involving a parameter β, then for the Laplace equation rsβ is a non-singular generalized radial basis ...

Infinitely many non-radial solutions to a critical Choquard equation

open access: yes
In this paper we study a class of critical Choquard equations with a symmetric potential, i.e. we consider the equation $$-Δu +V(|x|) u =\left(|x|^{-μ}* |u|^{2^\star_μ}\right)|u|^{2^\star_μ-2}u,\quad\mbox{in}\quad\mathbb R^N$$ where $V(|x|)$ is a bounded, nonnegative and symmetric potential in $\mathbb R^N$ with $N\geq 5$, $0<μ\leq 4$, $*$ stands ...

Non-radial solutions with orthogonal subgroup invariance for semilinear Dirichlet problems

open access: yesTopological Methods in Nonlinear Analysis, 2003
Let \(\Omega = \{x\in {\mathbb R}^n : | x| 0\) is a parameter and two typical examples of \(f\) are \(f(u) = u-| u| ^{p-1}u\), where \(p>1\), and \(f(u) = \sin u\). The main result of the paper asserts that \(G\) is non-transitive if and only if for each positive integer \(k\) there exists \(\lambda_{k}\) such that whenever \(\lambda > \lambda_{k ...

Uniform Amorphization of Crystalline Silicon Surfaces Enabled by Deep Ultraviolet Femtosecond Laser Pulses

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Deep‐UV (258 nm) femtosecond pulses enable uniform amorphous silicon writing on Si(100)/(111) with a six‐fold larger fluence amorphization window than NIR methods. Optimized fluence and overlap yield 20–45 nm uniform and continuous amorphous layers. Microscopy shows sharp interfaces, and real‐time reflectivity reveals nanosecond melt–resolidification ...

Model‐Guided Design of Paper Membrane Architectures for Controlled Flow and Enhanced Diagnostic Sensitivity

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Geometrical modifications on nitrocellulose membranes can result in observable differences in signal intensity relative to a reference membrane (top and bottom left). Using two reference experiments, we have developed a theoretical model that can reproduce the experimentally observed flow changes and provide information on membrane parameters, e.g ...

Architecture‐Driven Sensor Stability in Weft‐Knitted Engineering Textiles

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Textile‐integrated sensor architectures are systematically compared to evaluate their electromechanical behavior under combined mechanical and environmental loading. Pocket‐based integration exhibits stable and reproducible signals, whereas tunnel‐based routing shows higher sensitivity accompanied by increased variability.
