Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs

2013
Several DSC studies have given a better understanding of the molecular mechanisms of interaction of many non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents (NSAIDs), such as indomethacin, ibuprofen, naproxen, nimesulide, ketoprofen and oxicam drugs with cell membranes or with simplified phospholipid-based biomembrane models. The consequent changes in the ...

Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs

Medicine, 2016
Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs are widely available and a common component of overdose. Toxic effects are principally renal. At high doses, coma and hepatic injury are rarely reported. Mefenamic acid is notable as it causes convulsions, although these are usually short-lived. Treatment is to a large extent supportive.

Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs

Rheumatology, 1993
Pre-clinical studies suggest that, whilst NSAIDs have similar anti-inflammatory efficacy, the potential for producing side effects varies widely between members of this class of therapeutic agents. The ways in which NSAIDs produce one of their most serious side effects, gastrointestinal damage, are outlined and consideration is given to ways of ...

Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs

1986
This is a group of drugs with analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory properties whose main role is to provide symptomatic relief of pain and stiffness in various rheumatic and other conditions. In 1980 these drugs accounted for 5% of all patient prescriptions and around 10% of the total ingredient cost of all drugs (McLean, 1983).
