Lolium multiflorum exhibits resistance to mesosulfuron-methyl through ALS mutations; HZ2 population also shows metabolic resistance through P450 pathways. Lolium multiflorum L., is a weed that frequently appears in wheat fields and is recognized for its strong competitive nature, where it can cause significant damage to grain production. The weeds of L.

Identification of non-target-site based resistance mechanisms by a transciptomics approach
2013We have witnessed a dramatic increase in the number of weeds showing herbicide resistance during the past three decades. The potentially most dangerous mechanisms of resistance endows Non-Target-Site based Resistance (NTSR): NTSR is polygenic, unpredictable and can confer cross-resistance to herbicides with different modes of action.
