Reflection/refraction at the interface of an elastic solid and a partially saturated porous solid containing liquid filled bound pores and a connected pore space saturated by two-phase fluid

open access: yesLatin American Journal of Solids and Structures
The phenomena of reflection and refraction of plane waves incident obliquely at a plane interface between uniform elastic solid half-space and porous solid containing liquid filled bound pores and two-phase fluid in connected pores has been analyzed. The

Direct Position Determination of Non-Circular Sources Based on a Doppler-Extended Aperture With a Moving Coprime Array

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
Direct position determination (DPD) is a new promising technique in wireless location. Compared with conventional two-step localization methods, DPD achieves a higher accuracy by directly estimating the source location without computing the intermediate ...

Evidence of Iron Accumulation in Cerebral Adrenoleukodystrophy: A Potential Novel Disease Mechanism

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In this first application of Quantitative Susceptibility Mapping Source Separation to cerebral adrenoleukodystrophy, we uncovered alterations in iron and myelin within lesions and normal appearing white matter. As validation, we demonstrate abnormal iron accumulation in those same compartments within primary brain tissue.

Emerging topological bound states in Haldane model zigzag nanoribbons

open access: yesnpj Quantum Materials
Zigzag nanoribbons hosting the Haldane Chern insulator model are considered. In this context, a reentrant topological phase, characterized by the emergence of quasi zero dimensional in-gap states, is discussed.

Reperfusion‐Dependent Outcomes After Endovascular Thrombectomy Stratified by NIHSS‐ASPECTS Clinical‐Core Mismatch

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective This analysis evaluates the effect of successful reperfusion on functional outcomes after MT, stratified by admission National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) and Alberta Stroke Program Early CT Score (ASPECTS) as surrogates for clinical‐core mismatch, using multicenter registry data.

Variable-Length Time Series Subsequence Query Method Supporting Uniform Scaling [PDF]

open access: yesJisuanji gongcheng
Subsequence query, a fundamental technique in time-series data analysis, aims to find subsequences similar to the target sequence. Most existing methods for subsequence query support the query of subsequences of the same length as the target sequence ...

Asymptotic Capacity Bounds for Wireless Networks with Non-Uniform Traffic Patterns [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, 2008
We develop bounds on the capacity of wireless multihop networks when the traffic pattern is non-uniform, i.e., not all nodes are the sources and sinks of similar volumes of traffic. Our results are asymptotic, i.e., they hold with probability going to unity as the number of nodes goes to infinity.

MYCOPHENOLATE MOFETIL TREATMENT REDUCES THE RISK OF TREATMENT ESCALATION DUE TO VASCULAR COMPLICATIONS IN LIMITED CUTANEOUS SYSTEMIC SCLEROSIS: EMULATION OF A TARGET TRIAL FROM ITALIAN RHEUMATOLOGY SOCIETY SPRING REGISTRY

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objective Mycophenolate Mofetil (MMF) use in limited cutaneous systemic sclerosis (lcSSc) is relatively uncommon due to the lower fibrotic burden and the predominance of the vascular complications. In vitro observations and clinical data from transplanted patients suggest a protective effect of MMF on endothelial function.

A NON-UNIFORM BOUND ON GEOMETRIC APPROXIMATION TO THE YULE DISTRIBUTION [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Pure and Apllied Mathematics, 2013
The aim of this paper, we use Stein's method and the w-function associated with the Yule random variable to obtain a non-uniform bound for the point metric of the Yule and geometric distributions. Three numerical examples are provided to illustrate the obtained result.

Prevalence of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus in Australia, 2010–2022: A Population‐Based Study Using Linked National Administrative Health Data

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objectives Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a heterogenous inflammatory condition, with widely varying global prevalence estimates. Frequency of SLE in the general population of Australia has been reported to be notably lower than contemporary estimates in countries such as the US or UK at 19‐39 per 100,000 as opposed to 65‐97 per 100,000.
